Arizona Canvass Report. It's Hot! Hot! Hot! But voters opened their Doors! [1]

Hope Springs from Field PAC’s [dated website] volunteers hadn’t been able to canvass in all of Arizona since May 31st. As last weekend’s forecast seemed to promise that it would be possible, organizers and volunteers got a little excited. Three of the weekends since had seen cancelled canvasses for the entire state, while the other two could only support canvassing in the Tucson suburbs. But we also know that we can canvass deep into the Fall here, so volunteers take the cancelled Saturdays with a grain of salt knowing that this is one of the states where we will still be knocking on doors in November.
Like prior years, we start early in the Summer here to use noon as a hard cut-off for canvassers. On Saturday, it hadn’t even hit 94° by noon, which was good! And, to be honest, we have Arizona volunteers who are afraid that all the cutbacks to federal operations mean that we won’t get the same kind of weather warnings beforehand. Regardless, We Persist. Arizona and Nevada are unique states in this regard.

We are knocking on doors in Arizona because there are 3 congressional districts where we think we can beat a MAGA Republican incumbent there to take back the House. Especially in this emerging electoral environment! That is our first and primary goal this year, returning Congress to sanity and Democrats to the majority.
