That new law Ukraine passed to strip anti-corruption agencies of their independence is already raising concerns within the EU.
x 🇪🇺🇺🇦 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called Zelensky and asked for clarification on the law that limits the independence of NABU and SAPO. She expressed deep concern about the consequences of these changes and asked the Ukrainian government to provide clarification.

x Six years ago, Zelensky urged citizens to call the hotline of Ukraine's anti-corruption agency if they were offered bribes. Now it's at the center of the biggest political crisis of his wartime presidency. My latest, on how his power grab sparked a massive backlash: www.ft.com/content/c98f...

The crisis appears to have been sparked by probes into members of Zelensky’s circle, particularly his close ally and ex deputy pm Oleksiy Chernyshov, as well as the president’s desire to further consolidate control over powerful institutions in wartime. The president’s office ordered MPs back to the capital for an urgent session on Tuesday, with MPs from Zelensky’s ruling faction told that “the boss” was watching closely and noting any opposition, according to a lawmaker from the president’s party. Ukraine’s western backers rushed to try to persuade Zelensky to change course and not sign the contentious law. French President Emmanuel Macron and European Council president António Costa phoned him in a last-ditch effort to dissuade him, but failed.
There have already been protests against the new law.
x Protests against Law 12414 took place in Kharkiv today. It was peaceful. Cars passing by were beeping in support. I’m incredibly proud of my fellow citizens for showing up despite being so close to the frontline,

Sadly, Putin is likely correct.
Ukraine attacked Russian positions on the Kinburn Peninsula.
The post doesn’t say where on the peninsula this happened, but it wasn’t the Spit, which is a treeless sandbar extending from the end of the peninsula.
A victory over a Russian drone.
x ‼️ The Russian drone was waiting for Ukrainian transport and tried to catch up with the scouts' buggy. 🙏 Soldiers shot down the enemy drone with fire from small arms, and it fell to the side of the road without detonating.

Ukraine continues to pound Russia’s rail infrastructure. The attack also targeted a power plant and an administrative building. Novocherkassk is about 30 miles northeast of Rostov. Wikipedia says the city is the cultural capital of the Cossacks.
I Googled the term “jewelry explosives” and it was defined as a bath bomb. I don’t think that’s how it’s used in this context. 😅
Whatever it is, it did a good job on this pontoon bridge.

Necessity being the mother of invention.
x A Ukrainian developer has introduced new ammunition feed systems for assault machine gunners and robotic platforms. These are available for both light and heavy machine guns, as well as grenade launchers militarnyi.com/en/news/ukra...

Murena is designed to provide continuous belt-fed ammunition supply to all types of machine guns and launchers used by Ukrainian forces. Each caliber and weapon type has its own modification. The system is available in two configurations: a static configuration with a flexible sleeve connecting the weapon to an ammo container, and a mobile version that functions as a wearable backpack for assault operations. ….. Developer Taras Holota mentioned that one of the main engineering challenges was achieving consistent belt curvature, which directly affects feed reliability and risk of jamming. Each belt type has its own limitations. “The hardest part was adapting the system to .50 BMG and 12.7 mm belts. But we achieved the desired result,” he noted.
I know a place they can test this under combat conditions.
x ❗️🇹🇷Turkish defense company ROKETSAN first demonstrated the latest hypersonic ballistic missile TAYFUN Block-4. According to unofficial information, the firing range is about 1000 km.

There is no end to the benefits of living under Russian occupation.
x Khanzhenkivs'ke Reservoir near Donetsk has completely dried up. Another scar on Ukrainian land. This is what russian “liberation” looks like - destruction, mismanagement, and rot. Occupation doesn’t bring life. It drains it. #UkrainianView

He was only seven months old.Chubarek was taken in by the “Rifugio” shelter in Kyiv region, run by Italian Andrea Cisternino. Andrea noticed in a video that there had always been a white pony next to Chubarek - Caramella. She was also brought to the shelter. "When they reunited, Chuba recognized his friend right away, even without sight. Caramella hasn’t left his side since. If she wanders off, Chuba starts to worry and turn around. Then she comes back, touches him - and he calms down," Andrea shared.
