History has a way of hiding its worst lessons in plain sight. And lately, it seems like someone has been reading from a very dangerous playbook — one that turns lies into laws, critics into criminals, and voters into stage props.
So I did what any self-respecting satirist might do: I wrote the manual myself.
It’s called The Liar’s Guide to Autocracy. And starting this week, I’m serializing it on Substack — one twisted, true-to-life chapter at a time.
Author’s Note
Dear Reader,
This book is, of course, satire. It’s a tongue-in-cheek exploration of how power is wielded, manipulated, and clung to in the face of truth, democracy, and common sense. Inspired by a world that often feels more absurd than fiction, I wanted to shine a light on the tactics used by those who rewrite reality to suit their needs—and to remind us all why vigilance and humor are essential tools for maintaining our humanity.
While the examples here may seem exaggerated, history reminds us that the line between satire and reality is thinner than we’d like to admit. My hope is that this guide not only makes you laugh but also leaves you questioning the stories we’re told — and the ones we tell ourselves.
