Trump's New MIGA - Make Indians Great Again [1]

At a time desiring of political correctness, two sports teams needed to change their names. There was the Washington Redskins football team, and the Cleveland Indians baseball team.

The Redskins became the Washington Commanders and the Indians became the Cleveland Guardians. Native Americans were happy about the changes, because the previous names were racist. Now, Donald Trump wants everything changed back, just like he changed military forts back to ones that idolized Confederate traitors.

Trump makes up a movement that doesn't exist to justify having the teams change their names back.

"There is a big clamoring for this."

I really don't think so. A change, changing their names and logos again, would be a great expense, obsoletting current team merchandise.

Tell me this isn't a racist logo with the solid red skin.

"Our great Indian people, in massive numbers, want this to happen."

No, it was a massive amount of Native Americans who wanted the changes made. Just calling them Indians by Trump is racist. But that doesn't stop Trump from piling it on.

"Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them."

Trump wants to put the race back in racism. These were two teams that have been targeted by Native Americans for their racist names and logos. Now, a team like the Florida Seminoles is a different story. It uses the name of an actual Native American tribe, and their mascot is actually pretty cool with the guy on the horse and the spear.

"Times are different now than it was three or four years ago."

They sure are different. They've become the time for right-wing racism being tolerated, instead of criticized. Civil rights in their original meaning have been taken away.

"We are a country of passion and common sense. OWNERS, GET IT DONE!"

Common sense is one of Trump's replacement words for racism. Anything done in its name is correct. Once again he is telling business people how to run their business.

The first post wasn't enough. He had to threaten.

Part 1

"I may put a restriction on them..."

A restriction? We find out later what kind.

"... if they don't change back to the original 'Washington Redskins,' and get rid of that ridiculous moniker 'Washington Commanders,' I won't make a deal for them to build a stadium in Washington."

I'm having a problem with this claim to power. Congress has control of passing laws governing Washington, D.C. and the city's budget, but this stadium could be the decision of Mayor Muriel Bowser.

"The Team would be much more valuable, and the Deal would be exciting for everyone."

There was a big cost in changing the name the first time. How are you going to cover that this time? Changing the name back doesn't do anything for the value of the team. Trump wants to change back because it was changed during Biden's time in office.

Part 2.

"The Owner of the Cleveland Baseball Team, Matt Dolan, who is very political, has lost three Elections in a row because of that ridiculous name change"

Dolan ran for US Senate in 2022, didn't get behind Trump, and lost. His father, who was the majority owner of the Guardians, passed away in February, and his brother Paul should now be the majority owner of the team, as well as being the CEO and chairman.

The name change was partially a factor in the 2022 election, but not the whole reason for his loss.

"What it doesn't understand is that if he changes the name back to the Cleveland Indians, he might actually win an Election."

The decision was by his brother as in the best interests for the team.

"Indians are being treated very unfairly."

Yes, very much by Trump. He's upset at Indigenous Peoples Day instead of Columbus Day. How can he possibly claim to be in favor of Native Americans when he wants to take away their replacement celebration? Native Americans have been treated unfairly by all white people, all the immigrants, who stole the country from them.

"MAKE INDIANS GREAT AGAIN (MIGA)!"

They already are great. And stop calling them Indians, you racist criminal. Indians is the name we gave them because we were so stupid we thought we'd reached the country of India. So, their name was because of a gigantic mistake. We've rectified that by calling them Native Americans. That's the least we can do.
