Adams Eclipses Mamdani in Recent Fund-Raising, as Cuomo Lags Behind As Mr. Adams makes a long-shot re-election bid as an independent candidate in November, he has begun to expand his fund-raising network to try to compete with the Democratic nominee, Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani. The latest fund-raising period in the race suggests that the mayor still holds sway with some donors — even if they are outside the typical New York donor world. Of the $1.5 million that Mr. Adams raised during the most recent filing period, from June 10 to July 11, nearly half came from outside New York City. Eight donations arrived from Florida on the day of the fund-raiser, totaling $2,325. www.nytimes.com/…

4 Democrats Top Early Fundraising in Maine Governor Race Four Democrats are currently the top fundraisers for next year’s election for Governor of Maine. Initial fundraising totals show Hannah Pingree, Shenna Bellows, Angus King III, and Troy Jackson have all raised more than $400,000, with Pingree and Bellows topping the half-million-dollar mark. Attorney Bobby Charles is the only Republican in the governor’s race to top $300,000 in fundraising, which includes $70,000 that he loaned to his campaign. wgan.com/…

Who’s giving to Hochul and Delgado? Small donors are still a small part of the campaigns of both Gov. Kathy Hochul and Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado as they head toward a Democratic primary matchup next June. Hochul’s campaign committee raised $120,000 over the past six months from individuals who gave $250 or less, accounting for 3 percent of her $4.4 million haul. Delgado raised $112,000 from them, or 8 percent of his $1.5 million. An ability to tap into small donors could be crucial in the months ahead. Next year will be the first gubernatorial election in state history with a matching funds system, letting candidates tap into as much as $7 million in public money. www.politico.com/…

Two GOP state lawmakers consider running against WA’s Gluesenkamp Perez Democratic U.S. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez may soon get a seasoned Republican challenger in her southwest Washington district. And it won’t be Joe Kent, the man she’s defeated twice. State Senate Republican Leader John Braun and Washington State Republican Party Chair Jim Walsh are both eyeing a challenge to the congresswoman, who won a second term last year and is up for reelection in 2026. Her 3rd Congressional District has drawn national attention as a battleground where the outcome helps decide which party controls the U.S. House. Republicans are eager to reclaim the seat they lost three years ago. washingtonstatestandard.com/…
