Uproar over Trump Energy Summit, CMU censors students. Then erases students rights to speak! [1]

The saga of free speech continues at CMU and for those not familiar with recent news, Rump was invited to a summit at Carnegie Mellon University, which is abbreviated CMU, one of the top research universities in the county, for a summit where he made a serious fool of himself. Rump making a fool of himself was covered widely on this site, but apparently, no one ever noticed where the summit took place and certainly didn’t pay any attention to what was happening on campus. In recent months, CMU has been under attack from the current maladministration for having a significant percentage of its student body made up of (full freight paying) foreign students. CMU is also an R1 research university and much of its operating budget comes from federal grants and research funds.
The student body voiced their displeasure in ways CMU students have been doing for over 100 years, using The Fence which has long been seen as a bastion of free speech and has NEVER been censored by the University (except for obscenity).
Now, the University is TRYING TO CHANGE THE RULES of what may be painted on The Fence, so that what the University did that was wrong becomes something the students did that was wrong. They have closed The Fence altogether and are going to rewrite the rules about what students can and cannot say. Coverage has now spread to local TV (see video at the following link).

Suffice to say, not enough of Pittsburgh disagrees with this travesty of freedom. CMU is in some deep, shark infested waters. They are obeying, knuckling under, and are complicit with fascism. While this does not surprise me—CMU has always been right of center—it does completely appall me. This is my alma mater and they are stomping all over—with jackboots—a tradition that long predates Rump and his merry band of conmen, incompetents, and pedophiles.

If the word “rapist” offends CMU administration maybe they ought not to invite a rapist to campus.
