BIG BABY TRUMP Celebrates CBS Firing Stephen Colbert with Typically Repulsive Invective and Lies [1]

The innately infantile tendencies of Donald Trump are on display again as he reacts to the announcement by Paramount/CBS that this season will be the last for its hit program, "Late Night with Stephen Colbert," after ten successful and hilarious years. Colbert himself revealed the bad news to his audience on Thursday night, that the show will go dark when this season ends in May of 2026.

The timing for this announcement could not be more suspicious. Paramount is in the midst of a proposed multibillion dollar merger with Skydance Media, a firm owned by Trump's billionaire pals David and Larry Ellison. Paramount recently settled an utterly meritless lawsuit with Trump, paying $16 million to grease the wheels for Trump's administration to approve the merger.

Meanwhile, Colbert's monologue on Monday night addressed the merger and the corrupt settlement. And he was not shy about criticizing what he called a "big fat bribe."
x This Stephen Colbert monologue from Monday night, followed by a bit about the MAGA contingent calling for Trump to release the Epstein files, is the reason why Paramount fired Colbert and canceled his show. That, and the Midterm elections are coming up, and he would continue to go after Trump. — Amee Vanderpool (@girlsreallyrule.bsky.social) 2025-07-18T00:37:15.836Z
No one should be surprised that Trump lashed out maniacally upon hearing about Colbert's cancelation. Trump posted a typically noxious comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, to gloat over what is sad news - not just for Colbert and his staff - but for millions of Americans who find joy and solace in Colbert's humor and insights.
"I absolutely love that Colbert’ got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show."
There's a lot of bullpucky stuffed into that blast of explosive dia-rhetoric. Beginning with Trump's orgasmic pleasure from the hardship of others. More to the point, Trump is hardly a credible source for measuring the talent of any entertainer. His own talent is mainly limited to whining, exalting himself, insulting people, and shamelessly lying.
Trump shows off that, despite 14 seasons on TV, he has a profound ignorance of television ratings. He doesn't know that Colbert is the highest rated late night talk show, and that its popularity is still growing. It was the only late night show to draw more total viewers in the second quarter of 2025 than it had in the first.
Trump goes on to praise Fox News hate-comic, Greg Gutfeld, whose idea of comedy is mocking the homeless and openly referring to himself a Nazi, as in "What up, my Nazi." And it makes no sense to compare Colbert to Gutfeld because Gutfeld is not a late night program. It airs at 11:00 PM only on the east coast. Everywhere else in the country he is on in prime time. If Trump knew anything about how ratings work, he would know that you can’t compare programs in different time periods. HUT levels (Homes Using Television) are much higher prime time. Even so, Colbert gets a higher viewing share than Gutfeld.
Trump's obsession with celebrities is evident in his frequent attacks on those who don't worship him. In addition to his hatred for Colbert and Kimmel, Trump has recently gone after Rosie O'Donnell, whose citizenship he threatened to revoke and said is "a threat to humanity." And he maligned Bruce Springsteen as a "dried up old prune." And he famously posted that "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT."
So Trump is clearly in touch with the American people, right? I mean, who doesn't hate Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen? And Trump is currently languishing at record lows in every poll. So it's all working for him, isn't it?
x And then there's this... "Newsweek's tracker, which shows Trump's net approval rating at an all-time low of -11 points, with 43 percent approving and 54 percent disapproving." www.newsweek.com/donald-trump... — News Corpse (@newscorpse.bsky.social) 2025-07-18T16:51:28.378Z
As for Colbert, he will land on his feet. He has ten months to prepare for the next chapter in his career. He is a valuable brand that could succeed at levels transcending what he achieved at CBS. Many other former mainstream media folk are doing so. In fact, Colbert might have been goading CBS into firing him so that he could prosper more with his own media venture. But Trump will always wallow in mud and, with any luck, will end up in his Alligator Alcatraz.
