New Day Cafe: Nicknames [1]

Welcome to the New Day Cafe! This is an open thread.
The Guardian had a recent piece on nicknames, and how their readers had gotten those nicknames.
It’s a touching piece, so I recommend clicking over to it.
Usually people call me by the nickname Sam, which I don’t love. I think it’s actually cute for other people, but it doesn’t work for me.
Some others: My mother used to call me Mantha when I was a kid, and my sister called me Maimie after she saw the name in family tree. My high school cross country coach often called me Sbam, and while I’m not really sure why he did, I sometimes use it as an online handle. I use some variant of it on BlueSky, Spotify, and Instagram. It doesn’t hurt that it sounds like spam. You can’t take yourself too seriously online.
