Man of Steal: Our 'Heroic' POTUS Is Bogus [1]

Starting in 1962, for a year or so I got hooked on late afternoon reruns from a syndicated TV series that had first aired from 1952-1958. In “Adventures of Superman,” each episode’s windy, worshipful intro ended with words now deployed by Donald Trump’s stable of geniuses to further laud their lord, master, and Leader. Namely, TRUTH. JUSTICE. AND THE AMERICAN WAY.
As the regime’s heavily retouched poster idol, Big Blonder loses his jowls. His excess heft. His coating of orange gloop. His perpetual scowl. And his terrestrial mooring. Soaring (it seems) toward the skies, he looks serene. Sane. And perhaps even competent.
But all is not well. One senses that, behind the scenes, he’s pretty cheesed off by the Superman film franchise’s latest offering. After all, it reportedly stresses the Man of Steel’s status as an interplanetary non-European alien. Immigrant. Or what have you.
When “Adventures...” debuted, Donnie was 12 years old. Whether or not he tuned in to watch bullets bounce off George Reeves’s torso, I have no clue. But we do know this. Six ways to Sunday, his rearing looks to have been WAY more Luthor than Super. According to Harry Hurt III’s award-winning 1993 bio Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump, Fred Trump’s mantra for his own middle son ran far afoul of anything like The American Way. (For instance, among the relevant Georges, think not Washington, not Reeves, but the dread, loathed, un-American George III.)
If that sounds harsh, imagine a surly, impressionable kid’s real estate mogul father grinding into his towhead “YOU ARE A KILLER… YOU ARE A KING….” And talk about prophecy! The whining scion now proclaims (let alone admits to) the latter. Not to mention: his then future First Lady and his now deceased mom are/were (you guessed it) IMMIGRANTS. (Not that he’d ever dream of foisting a double standard on his subjects, er, constituents. Of course!)
So here we sit. On our part, even without x-ray vision, remedial vigilance is of the essence. For starters, here’s the thing. Given how such Trump chums as Jair Bolsonaro, Viktor Orban, Nayib “World’s Coolest Dictator” Bukele, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un don’t exactly smack of a Justice League, don’t touch that dial. Stay tuned. Watch closely.
