This Week in the War on Women [1]
['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

Last week we took a poll about the possibility of moving this weekly feature to Wednesdays. It was a nearly even split, with a slight preference for keeping Saturdays, so it looks like we’re keeping the current posting time.
As always, this diary is a group effort. Thanks to libera nos, mettle fatigue, and the WOW crew for links and discussion.
Violence and Harassment:
After months of promising to reveal Jeffery Epstein’s client list, the administration has now declared that it doesn’t exist. I have no idea whether the government ever got hold of an actual written client list, but it remains incredible that not one of his customers has ever been prosecuted, despite multiple victims coming forward and naming names.
A Scottish study found that most women had experienced some form of sexual harassment at work, and 10 percent had been sexually assaulted.
Linda Yaccarino stepped down as CEO of Xitter, shortly after Grok, Musk’s AI bot, heaped verbal abuse on her online. There were already hints that she was being sidelined and had been “effectively demoted.”
Creepy photographer in NC sentenced to probation for taking “upskirt” photos of women and girls.
Reproductive Rights:
Planned Parenthood has scored a temporary victory over the defunding requirement in the Big Betrayal Bill. But it may not survive under the current administration.
Wisconsin Supreme Court strikes down the states 176-year-old abortion ban.
Justice:
Hawaii stopped locking up girls and started listening to them instead.
Workplace Issues:
The “hot girl hamster wheel:” women who spend more on their appearance tend to make more money, but it becomes a catch-22.
Education:
Remember when Harvard was applauded for standing up to TFG? They’ve now caved, removing DEI policies and taking down websites serving women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ students.
Cheryl Crazy Bull, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund, "We’re Still Here: Culture, Community, and College at the Heart of Native Resilience."
Politics:
In Nigeria, with one of the world’s lowest rates of women in the legislature, children have trouble seeing women as leaders.
Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian says they are “ready to work closely with Trump.” (I have my doubts as to whether the reverse is true.)
Deb Haaland, former Secretary of the Interior and current candidate for NM Governor, to launch “Lift Up New Mexico” Tour focusing on making New Mexico more affordable.
Uncategorizable:
Yurok and Karuk teens Ruby Williams and Keeya Wiki among young indigenous kayakers about to complete historic 310-mile river journey, after ‘largest dam removal in US history.’ There are two amazing and beautiful pieces of footage of the entire group of kayakers in this article.
Lyz Lenz: I witnessed the crisis of masculinity at a Trump rally (and had my chair stolen).
3 years ago, Angela Paxton drove her husband Ken (Attorney General of Texas) while he fled a subpoena. She stood by him through rumored affairs (including when he allegedly used his influence to get his mistress a government job). Now she says she’s divorcing him on “Biblical grounds.” Notably, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has jumped in, using this in an attempt to shut down Ken Paxton’s primary challenge to Sen. John Cornryn.
