An Update on Dave, for Those who are Wondering [1]

Earlier this week I posted a story about a conflict I’m going through with a healthcare provider who is being very hard to work with over the “care” they are giving to a friend of mine. The numbers show it didn’t get a lot of readers, but the comments showed some of you were engaged enough that you might want to know how things turned out. So for you, this is a copy of the update I was able to text my friends today.
This afternoon —
Thought it time for an update. Things are better.
DAVE: actually building some core strength and endurance. And his daily health is so much better. He came here with a persistent cough that looks to have gone away. And the main thing is a healthy attitude! He’s pushing himself and working out in addition to the scheduled ones.
THIS PLACE: you know I was gonna keep slapping them in the face until I got someone’s attention, and it looks like I have. They are actually sticking to his dining arrangements I prefer over those of his RN (my new BFF). And the trainers are actually putting him through workouts a couple of hours a day, when their contract lets them get away with only 2 half hour ones. I’m going to see him now, and I may get a chance to see the RN (my new BFF) since she works weekends.
I’ll bet it’ll be a fun reunion!
And this evening —
Well, some relationships start off frosty and warm up over time. Looks like that’s where I am with the RN (my new BFF). We’re still not on a first name basis, but I’m working on her. The only chance we had to meet was when she had to check his blood sugar.
Good reading (on the Dave scale). She very professionally told Dave the numbers and gave him his shot while doing her damnedest to pretend I’m invisible. It’s not my fault, but she’s made herself a project for my idle time when I’m around her.
I’m putting on the show like I would when I had a client that was determined to have a bad experience with us. I am so overly friendly and engaging she is confused by my amnesia about how we left things last time.
She obviously didn’t want to have one word with me, but I commented to her that Dave’s numbers are staying in a much better range than last week. It sure is nice to see things going the right way.
Just a little push, enough to leave her suspicious about my personality change. I feel like we’re in a good place now.
