UnF$cking the Replublic (UNFTR) quickie: How Reagan Passed the Largest Tax Increase in US History [1]

A quickie video from UNFTR about Reagan bending us over a barrel and giving us the FDOD, or passing the largest tax increases in US History.
This is good basic stuff to know and bears directly on where we are today.
Worth the time to watch IMHO. Also UNFTR is a GREAT source of economic/political information, and I encourage you to check them out. I’m not affiliated with them, but think they are a valuable resource.
Adding a quick outline based on a comment. My outline, so my mistakes.
In 1981 Reagan’s tax cuts poured billions of $ into the rich and corporations
This money ended up in the Stockmarket
But the working class did not receive any benefits — no trickledown
This caused the Stockmarket to roar, and never look back
This also bankrupted the government
In response Reagan raised taxes in 1982, and did so 11 times
But he lowered the top marginal tax rate on the rich from 70% to 28%
So the tax burden fell disproportionately on the middle class
He pulled off the largest tax increase of all time, and no one knows about it
There is a longer video associated with this one, I’m just posting the quickie as it hits the story quick and hard.
I also admit I’m dyslexia and can’t spell worth a shit. I don’t see words like others do!
I kick out a lot of these videos that are foundational or insightful. I’d appreciate if you tell me if you derive benefit.
