This night bloomer had 14 buds on it this time around, this being the first to open a few days ago. Lat night, 12 opened all at once. No picture of that though, I got there too late and they had faded.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

This lovely plumaria is just beginning to bloom. It has two sets of flowers and they will smell so nice when they open.
This water lily was an unexpected visitor this week. The bulb is old and sends out lily pads but I did not expect another flower all this time later. It is very small but quite pretty.
The new water lily had 3 buds on it, this is the second. They all opened for at least 2 days.
This is the first one just beginning to open but I took the picture to show the faboo lily pads. They have the same purple and green on the bottom side, but they are not big splotches but little freckles.
This is a pregnant onion plant. It grows little bean sized new plants under the layers of its skin that take root where they fall. You can see new plants at the base of this mama. It is not lovely but fascinating.
Just a garden scene. I love this echeveria. It is so warty and colorful. It was a gift my from Saturday BFF.
Another garden scene with misc cuttings and solar lights.
This is a cactus I dug up in Lame, New Mexico, outside of Santa Fe. I brought it home on the train. The stones were laying around it on the desert and I took a few. I think they are peridot.
Baby quilt time! I called this Sea Life. It was what I call a basket case, an envelope full of left overs and cuttings that I used all of to do this. The largest piece was the center with the dancing octopuses and everything had to fit with that. The only fabric I added was the yellow. It is about a yard wide and a yard and a half long, just crib size.
This and the next one were left overs from a larger quilt top that was donated to me, the sewest telling me that she knew I would do something with it and didn’t care what it was. So I cut the middle out and made a quilt some years ago, and kept the sides which became these two little 1 yard square baby quilts.
And last, by popular demand, my yellow pleco. He is doing his job here, cleaning the walls of the tank. He is about a foot long. He is a monster in this tank but seems to be ok with it. The tank stays very clean so I am loath to give him away yet.
I like making baby quilts. They are quick, I can use fun fabric and not much of it, and I can free motion quilt them fairly easily.
I hope you enjoyed the show.
