I don’t want to imitate the right! [1]

People need to screw their heads on straight! There’s a difference between saying democrats and the left in general have things they should change and saying “it worked for tacoman” “that’s how they do it” “fight fire with fire!” NO damn it I will not.

You know what’s scary? When I mention or talk about this people think it means they can’t fight back, or be aggressive, or direct in their dealings with the right. That is scary, that the “caring” left, cannot fathom fighting back without being as mean and uncaring as the right. That we the left, liberals, progressives, caring people can’t find tactics to fight back that do not involve mocking the marginalized by using stereotypes to fight the right.

I don’t want to imitate the right, there’s really nothing I like about the right, but even then, I don’t want to desensitize myself to people’s suffering by saying some people’s suffering don’t matter because they deserve it, that’s right wing thinking and that’s dangerous. Or are we all underneath just a bunch of mean cruel vindictive people?

I don’t want to be like the right, imitate the right, think like the right, feel like the right (as they are today). No thanks! I want to be WOKE, CARING, FEELING… that’s what I want to be, that’s what I strive to be don’t always succeed but I strive.

When people say they don’t know which side to believe, it is because of this kind of approach, and this “do it like the right” mentality is infecting our sources of information also, our podcasters and rising independent media are chockfull of half-truths, partial clips and innuendoes that makes it damn hard to differentiate them sometimes from conspiracy theorists.

I want to be able to trust independent media, yet almost every time I fact check them, there’s something they omitted or obfuscated so the news would sound more dire or tacolike. I don’t want high jinks and click bait and tabloid like stories, I want truth. Good or Bad or in between and no matter which side it favors.

I don’t want to imitate the right by doing maga tears vs lib tears. I don’t want anyone’s fucking tears! I don’t want this they don’t care about us, so we don’t care about them. Tit For Tat, FAFO and whatever else we’re sliding into to enjoy other people’s pain and suffering because it’s the other. That’s their mentality to enjoy the pain of those they don’t like.

How the hell are we supposed to convince nonvoters and independent voters and undecided that we are different if we imitate the right? Tell me that!
