Just like Uvalde [1]

Just like in Uvalde, our immoral, grandstanding governor uses a tragedy as an opportunity to get in front of a camera and blame someone else. There's a reason they call the Texas Hill Country “flash flood alley.” This is our normal pattern—years of drought followed by devastating floods. It’s happened many times before. And these dipshits want to blame the agency that could have helped while laughing and defunding these same government agencies. Now Elon has his opening and I wonder if we will start to hear about it in 3,2,1.

And yet again, here they are—our governor and a parade of local yokels in cowboy hats, starched shirts, and stiff jeans—lined up like heroes for the cameras while people are still missing. I counted at least twenty of them as the governor signed some meaningless document and held it up like it was going to stop the water. Where have I seen that before? To hell with every one of them.

On a personal note, I just learned that a dear family friend is missing. She had just built a vacation home in Hunt. I pray they find her, as it continues to rain, as of this writing, and this tragedy plays out. My anger is at a government that allows building in a known flood zone today. And what kind of government does not have proper warning infrastructure in FLASH FLOOD ALLEY? I don’t care how much it rained upstream. It is very upsetting. This is not the first, or even the worst, and it will not be the last.

Sure, I understand the legal framework: federal, state, and especially local regulations. And yes, flood insurance is only available if your local government participates in a specific federal program dictated by the insurance industry. But let’s be honest—this system is broken. It’s a scam, and every year, people die because of it.

Will anything change? Will floodplain regulations finally get stronger? Will we invest in more advanced early warning technology? Doubtful. And in regulating the flood plain let me tell you—nothing makes people angrier than being told they Can’t do whatever they want on their own damn property. And especially a fool Texan.

But governments lack a lot of things. And these politicians refuse to act because they’re bought and sold by the insurance lobby. It’s simple—if you flood, and you live, great, but you don’t rebuild in the same spot. Yes, I believe the government should help the poor and the displaced. But the government today lacks a backbone. It’s dying in slow motion, every single day.

What we need is Real concern. Real help. Real grief, and Action, not this made-for-TV, choreographed show of “leadership.” Elect a clown, you get a clown.

And as for the line of first responders standing behind the governor like some honor guard, this reminds me of the 400 cops who showed up in Uvalde and froze. Apparently, because they weren’t in charge of the situation, including the Texas Rangers, and, just like Uvalde, people will forget, and they’ll keep voting for the same useless SOBs.

We must vote these Sons of Bitches Out.
