Elon Musk's America Party - and Trump responds [1]

Elon Musk was so unhappy with the Big Ugly Bill that he has revolted, as if he wasn't revolting already. He sees no path forward with the Democratic or Republican Parties, so he's creating his own. He can't run for President himself, not being a natural born American, but with his money, he could do a lot. He asked everybody on X if another political party was needed and closed the poll on the 4th of July.
The results for "Yes" were pretty overwhelming. But in his announcement, he seemed to be calling both the Republicans and Democrats as the parties of waste and graft.
A couple of hours later he was so enthused with the idea he had to do some flag waving.
The idea of a third party has been around for a long time with the Libertarian and Green Parties, along with many others in the 2024 presidential election. In half a century, there has only been one substantial independent candidate, and that was Ross Perot in 1992. His campaign features were a balanced budget and electronic direct democracy. Everybody voted on everything. With the internet now, that is actually possible. Republicans would have conniption fits if they heard about it today with their fetish for paper ballots and keeping themselves in power by whatever means necessary.
Perot won 18.9% of the vote. Every independent and named party candidates since are looked at as election spoilers because they have no chance of winning a majority vote. This could change with Musk, if he's really serious. What exactly is his game plan?
Musk answered with an idea, "One way to execute this would be to laser-focus on just two or three Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts. Given the razor thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people."
If you go to the Federal Election Commission website, you will find political parties you never heard of. Just on the first page of them is The Etherium Party, Pink Is The New Blue, and Crush The Collaborators. On the second page you find The America Party (PDF) where you find out Elon Musk's middle name is Reeve. He's filed the paperwork to get started.
Musk has already created an account for it on X. (X). It looks like this:
Silent majority. Shades of Richard Nixon. I wonder if Musk knows the origin?
He also set up a Linktree for it.
That's all the information there is on the America Party at the moment. It could just be a whim to strike back at the Republicans who passed the Big Ugly Bill, and the Democrats got caught in the crossfire.
The danger is that Musk has the money to do anything. The other side is that he has alienated a good chunk of the American people with his DOGE activities.
So far, the only comment from the Trump side is Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent who says that Musk should stay out of politics. One Democratic Representative says, "It's just a joke."
We'll see in the days, weeks and months to come whether it's a joke. I sure wouldn't ignore it.

I post the story and I find Trump criticizing Musk just minutes earlier. This is about the America Party and investigating whether Elon can be deported. Trump's thinking about it now.
Trump is the "train wreck" causing "disruption and chaos." Democrats have lost their minds, but Republicans are running a smooth "machine." A time machine taking us back to the 1890s.
It was "inappropriate" that a close friend of Elon would run NASA. Irony. What about every single campaign donor that Trump gave ambassadorships to?
The ending is a killer. Trump wants to protect us from the danger of Elon Musk. Yeah, a Democrat helped me out with $250 million, but I destroyed him with the Big Ugly Bill. Sayonara.
