Greetings from Missouri

Home of the Iran bombers. Some here insist that life is precious, as long as you submit to domination and are not the wrong color, religion or nationality, and as long as you do not need help in a nursing home or foster care facility.

Advocates for Missouri foster care fear what’s next after a veto of funding. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe announced a number of vetoes, including $212 million to help organizations working with those kids.

federal and state government refuse to listen to people or St Louis County Executive Sam Page as they are determined to cut Medicaid and force those with debilitating conditions to work or die in our increasingly uncertain America first! economy.

Our spineless Republican Senator, running Josh Hawley, talked with some heart

about Medicaid but voted for Trump’s giant, ugly bill anyway.

I know from experience between jobs that Missouri already made access to Medicaid very difficult. You had to drain your savings and home assets before they would give you a hand. It is opposite of the helping those in need and sharing good times government that we need. Republicans consistently vote to not help people until we are in such poor states that the state decides to make face saving efforts to save a few lives.

Trump’s budget, like most Republican efforts, bulldozes cash to already bloated, wasteful and counterproductive efforts, while punishing the less fortunate.

The 2026 proposed budget would shift $119.3B from non-defense programs to defense programs.

Missouri is not alone. Trump and Republicans are trying to bring all of the US down as they have since before 2016. Sane Missourians oppose conservative madness and stand with our friends stepping out for justice and equity across the country.

We fly kites

Fly a kite for hope and solidarity

Today in St Louis, we are holding a kite festival at Art Hill in Forest Park.

We share hope and solidarity with our dehumanized and displaced brothers and sisters. This week, we are flying kites with Burin.

Once a year, the skies of Burin come alive with a dazzling display of color and resilience. The Kite Festival, organized by residents and activists, brings the community together in a joyful celebration of resistance and steadfast joy. Against the backdrop of occupation, this festival has become a powerful symbol of the daily struggles and unwavering spirit of the people of Burin.

We also continue opposing genocide and American funding of genocide

Busta and I are going to the kite festival.

Better kites than flags of nationalism

The kite fest is postponed to next week due to rain and lightning. We arrived just in time to help tear down and pack out as thunderstorms approached.

Now, I have a little time for quotes I always hoped were historical and now irrelevant. I was wrong.

Wilhelm Reich lived in Europe through the 1920's and 30's. He was a student of Freud who went on to make biological and energetic claims or insights about psychology and politics. He worked with Communists in Austria, as I recall, before parting ways and eventually being forced to flee several countries. Reich ended up in the US, where he died in prison after prosecution for making medical claims about orgone. Many have labeled Reich pseudoscientific. Few have performed relevant experiments.
