Trying To Be Uplifting Here. Mamdani Leads In Two Polls, And Billionaire Bill Ackman Endorses Adams [1]

I’m not in the best mood for obvious reasons, and I know everyone else is also. Therefore, I want to bring forth some uplifting news about the New York’s Mayors Race. First, Mamdani is leading in two polls (Big Caveat Here: I got this from the New York Post and a pro-Adams pollster, and from Newsweek with what is probably a shitty pollster). Mamdami leads both Cuomo and Adams. Next, Trump praised Adams and REMINDED EVERYONE THAT ADAMS OWES TRUMP A SOLID. Finally, Trump donor and hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman has dumped Cuomo and is putting his endorsement and money on Adams.

Polls first.

A stunning poll aimed at drumming up support for Mayor Eric Adams’ re-election bid still has the incumbent trailing ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo by double digits as the pair jockey to take on socialist Zohran Mamdani. Mamdani, the 33-year-old Queens state assemblyman who shockingly trounced Cuomo in the Dem primary last month, leads the ex-gov and Adams by double-digits himself with 41% of the vote in a theoretical general election — while Cuomo garners 26%, and Hizzoner takes home 16%, the survey said.

The pollster is a pro-Adams outfit, according to the NY Post. It surveyed a little over a thousand voters. The poll does state that they asked the voters which candidate will you definitely not vote for, and Mamdani has 46% of the voters who claim they will never vote for him. However, Adams has 51% of voters who say, “No Way!”

Newsweek has this:

According to a poll from American Pulse conducted from June 28 to July 1, 2025, Mamdani has 35.2 percent support among New York City likely voters, compared to Cuomo's 29 percent and Adams' 13.8 percent. The likely voters were asked to pick a candidate from a list with the following options: Mamdani, Cuomo, Adams, Guardian Angels founder and Republican Curtis Sliwa, independent Jim Walden, another candidate or not sure. The survey has a margin of error of 4 percent and polled 568 people. Mamdani garnered the largest percentage of likely voters from 18 to 44 years old, with 49.7 percent. Cuomo's largest percentage came from the Bronx borough with 44.4 percent, while Adams saw his largest backing from Independents and Republicans with 23.8 percent alike.

Not a double digit lead for Mamdani against Cuomo, but this survey only asked 568 people.

Why talk about these polls? Look at how badly the corrupt Eric Adams is doing. It confirms what other political analysts have pointed out about Adams. He is DEEPLY UNPOPULAR! The guy isn’t breaking 20%. And what love he is receiving seems to be from Republicans.

I wonder if that love has something to do with the fact that Trump has Adams by the balls?

Donald Trump’s latest rhetoric about Zohran Mamdani was controversial in its own right, but the president’s comments about the man the New York City mayoral candidate hopes to replace stood out, too. NBC News reported: Discussing the New York City mayoral race, Trump said he ‘helped out’ Mayor Eric Adams, who had faced federal corruption charges. ‘You have a good independent running, Mayor Adams, who’s a very good person. I helped him out a little bit. He had a problem, and he was unfairly hurt over this question,’ Trump said.

If memory serves, Adams was indicted for bribery by federal prosecutors. After Trump won the election in 2024, Steve Bennen says this happened:

Soon after, Adams, who pleaded not guilty, launched an unsubtle effort to cozy up to Trump and his team.

And the Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove dismissed those charges. But not before exacting a price. Adams is supposed to allow the local cops and other NYC agencies to cooperate with ICE in rounding up immigrants who are here illegally.

And knowing Trump, it won’t stop at ICE raids in NYC. It never does. Trump runs a protection racket, and like any gangster, the demands keep going up.

I think most New Yorkers will fail to appreciate the reminder that Trump owns Adams now.

So what to do if you don’t want to vote for a crooked incumbent who has now left the Democratic Party to be a laughable “independent”? See above why Adams is not an independent.

According to the power brokers and establishment of NYC, you put your money on Andrew Cuomo. Oops. Cuomo couldn’t beat a young Democratic Socialist in the Democratic Primary. Well, Cuomo is listed as an independent now, and all those Cuomo backers will stick with him. Correct?

Ah no. The rats are leaving the U.S.S. Cuomo before the water rises to meet their feet. Besides some labor unions switching to Mamdani and a big league political consulting firm called Tusk Strategies jumping ship, one of Cuomo’s big money donors has dumped Cuomo: Bill Ackman.

One of the most prominent donors to the pro-Cuomo super-PAC, Fix the City, was hedge-fund billionaire Bill Ackman. Late Wednesday, Ackman signaled his support for Mayor Eric Adams, who launched an independent campaign after dropping out of the primary. In yet another lengthy post on X, Ackman said that he met with both Adams and Cuomo on Wednesday for about an hour each and came away with the conclusion that the mayor was best positioned to take on Mamdani in November. “In short, my takeaway is that Adams can win the upcoming election and that the Governor should step aside to maximize Adams’ probability of success,” he wrote. “I say this while having a high regard for Andrew Cuomo and his contributions to New York State. But it was abundantly clear in his body language, his subdued energy and his proposals to beat Mamdani, that he is not up for the fight.” The billionaire acknowledged that Adams’s first term “has not been without flaws,” which he mostly blamed on the mayor hiring too many friends to join him in City Hall, but that Adams was now building a dream-team campaign and deserved to win reelection.

I wonder if New Yorkers will hear about the Big, Beautiful Turd Law that took away healthcare for more than a few in NYC? The same Big, Beautiful Turd that will give Ackman another tax break. And aren’t there some kids in NYC on SNAP? Yeah, I think if I was in NYC I’d REALLY want to listen to what a billionaire donor to TRUMP has to say about the standard of living there.

MESSAGE: Don’t waste your vote on that loser Cuomo! Vote for the corrupt incumbent who is owned by Trump and his billionaire friends!

Sounds like some good news to me about Mamdani.
