No Cologne Can Mask the Stench From Trump’s Big Vile Bill

There were Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka, and Trump Ice, all of which had short inglorious runs. In 2004, there was “Donald Trump: The Fragrance,” and in 2012, “Success by Trump,” followed by “Empire by Trump” in 2015. Now the Trump family’s hustling instincts is producing two new colognes -- “Victory 45-47” and “Fight Fight Fight” -- which doesn’t smell like teen spirit; but rather, according to its promotional materials, “smells like winning.”

According to the Daily Dot’s Lindsey Weedston, the “colognes come in gold statuette bottles modeled after him and sell for as much as $249.“ On Truth Social, Trump suggested that “Trump Fragrances smell like ‘Winning, Strength, and Success.’”

Weedston reported that “On June 30, Trump posted images of golden statuette bottles in his likeness while announcing his latest fragrance line and newest cash grab from his MAGA followers” (https://www.dailydot.com/viral-politics/trump-fragrances/?utm_campaign=website&utm_medium=email&utm_source=DailyDot-newsletter).

“Trump Fragrances are here,” he wrote. “They’re called ‘Victory 45-47’ because they’re all about Winning, Strength, and Success—For men and women. Get yourself a bottle, and don’t forget to get one for your loved ones too. Enjoy, have fun, and keep winning!”

For $249, you get a “limited edition” 100 ml bottle with $50 discounts for purchase more than unless you buy more than one.

According to Weedston, “You can also get cheaper bottles in normal shapes for $199 each that feature an image of Trump with his fist in the air, labeled ‘FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.’ Other items, such as those titled ‘Victory Cologne’ for men and ‘Victory Perfume’ for women, have already sold out.”

Wired’s Mike Dent noted “That upper-but-not-quite-niche $249 pricing also puts Trump fragrances ahead of the more sophisticated celebrity scent sphere. At one end, names such as Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas have long cluttered pharmacy shelves across the world with their lower-market-end-conquering offers (think $25 a pop). Stars such as Ariana Grande are next on the ladder, capturing a huge market with candy-sweet bottles that go for $45 to $68. Then we have our Rhiannas and Billie Eilishes in the $140 ballpark—affordable luxury.”

As noted above, this isn’t Trump’s first foray into fragrance hustling. GQ’s Maxwell Williams noted that “The amusingly named Donald Trump the Fragrance dropped in 2004 when he was just starting his run on The Apprentice. That scent was created by Annie Buzantian, the master perfumer behind hits like Marc Jacobs Decadence and Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger. In 2015, as Trump was campaigning for his first run at office, he released the eau de toilettes Success and Empire. The former was made by Yann Vasnier, one of the world’s most famous noses, who formulated Tom Ford’s Velvet Orchid and Moschino Toy Boy (https://www.gq.com/story/trump-fragrance-victory-smell).

“Trump’s latest launch isn’t even the first Victory perfume. Last year, Trump debuted the limited edition Victory Cologne and Victory Perfume. He then quickly turned around Fight Fight Fight Cologne for Men and Fight Fight Fight Perfume for Women. Both bottles feature images of Trump pumping his fist in the air after the assassination attempt on him in 2024. It’s worth noting that Fight Fight Fight is also the name of a gaudy watch he released the same year. The list of curiously sourced Trump-branded products is long, and includes gold sneakers, NFTs, and Bibles, which made headlines for being produced in China.”

Fragranistas may be divided on Trump’s colognes, but is not in dispute is that, for the first time in recorded history, a president has marketed himself to such a shamelessly pungent degree.
