LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A clinic in southwest Nebraska announced Wednesday that it is closing due to financial challenges, including anticipated Medicaid cuts.
McCook-based Community Hospital said it is shutting down its clinic in Curtis, a town of about 900 people.
The Curtis Medical Center has been in operation for more than 30 years.
“Unfortunately, the current financial environment, driven by anticipated federal budget cuts to Medicaid, has made it impossible for us to continue operating all of our services, many of which have faced significant financial challenges for years,” Community Hospital CEO Troy Bruntz said in a statement.

It’s almost as if the GOP members of Congress don’t understand how business works, which is odd since so many of them claim to be businessmen.
They spent weeks crafting this bill so they could get through the Midterms before the worst of the cuts hit, apparently believing that the affected, if not doomed hospitals and clinics, either, would not understand that they were doomed until the funding actually stopped, or that the majority of hospitals and clinics would stay open for that year and change out of a sense of... humanitarianism?
No. The bottom will start falling out far sooner than that. Most of these providers simply will not stay open until they are compelled to close. A great many will cut their losses well before that.
MAGA will likely be reaping what it has sown throughout this year and next, long before any election.
May they enjoy the ride since it is, in fact, what they voted for.
