One Big Beautiful Propaganda Begins [1]

Wow. That didn’t take long.
No sooner than the travesty of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” passed the House, and before it’s signed by Trump, the Social Security Administration Trump trolls sent this email to Social Security recipients like me.
Social Security Applauds Passage of Legislation Providing Historic Tax Relief for Seniors The Social Security Administration (SSA) is celebrating the passage of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, a landmark piece of legislation that delivers long-awaited tax relief to millions of older Americans. The bill ensures that nearly 90% of Social Security beneficiaries will no longer pay federal income taxes on their benefits, providing meaningful and immediate relief to seniors who have spent a lifetime contributing to our nation's economy.
It goes on, but that’s the essence of it.
To be sure, I’ve been of the opinion the phase-in of Social Security benefits becoming up to 85% taxable has long needed an overhaul, primarily because the phase-in thresholds were never indexed for inflation. Said thresholds had not changed since the 1980’s when Ronald Reagan first made Social Security benefits taxable. As structured, it was a slow motion back-door tax increase on retirees.
Like the no-tax-on-tips thing that isn't what it seems, this won't help anyone who already doesn't pay income tax on their Social Security benefits, and it will definitely hurt if someone loses in other areas such as SSI or Medicaid.
The devil will be in the details—details that, as far as I know, have yet to be revealed.
