x So far today, Republicans in Washington have voted down amendments that would: 1) Save rural hospitals 2) Stop health insurance premium hikes 3) Stop Medicaid cuts If they were serious about protecting health care, why didn't they vote yes on these simple amendments? — Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (@warnock.senate.gov) 2025-07-01T02:02:09.696Z

x I just forced Republicans to take what should be a simple vote: Save health care for millions of Americans OR Give tax breaks to people making over $10 million a year Can you guess which one they chose? x @housedemocrats.bsky.social filed hundreds of amendments to the Senate version of the Big Ugly Bill. I filed one removing restrictions on the states using provider taxes to pay Medicaid costs. Lucy McBath (@mcbath.house.gov) 2025-07-02T21:42:22.626Z

Around 9 PM:

x At this point, this is not a legislative debate, it is a hostage situation. So, bleeding (literally) now into -

Thursday (Jul 3):

Around 3:30 AM the House opened for 1 hour debate. (There will be more in the comments.)

x Back speaking on the House floor at 3:45am because budgets are a statement of values — with this big, ugly bill Republicans have none. Americans will suffer. Americans will die. And it will be at the hands of the Republicans who vote yes. This budget is shameful. I’m a hell no! — Congressman Gabe Amo (@amo.house.gov) 2025-07-03T08:30:08.564Z

x Just took to the House Floor to speak in support of a country where everyone can afford to live the good life. And in strong opposition to Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill that is devastating to everyday Americans. We will not be silenced. www.youtube.com/live/3pbFrch... — Hakeem Jeffries (@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social) 2025-07-03T08:53:41.439Z

Leader Hakeem Jeffries is reading letters from constituents in every state, in alphabetical order, about what Medicaid, the ACA, etc. mean to them, and noting who their Representatives are. Leader Jeffries says. “I’m going to take my sweet time”. (At 6 AM ET (Thurs), he’s reading letters from Iowa). At 6:47 AM, Leader Hakeem Jeffries has completed this segment of Michigan, and says he’s only halfway through the stories about the attacks on Medicaid, and that he’ll continue with “stories that need to be told” about food assistance, small businesses, veterans, immigrants, etc..

Town Halls:

(Town halls planned by House members were postponed).

x Honored to host a town hall for Veterans today. Many of the patriots I spoke to today were deeply concerned about cuts to Medicaid and the VA — standing up for them in the Senate against the attacks on their health care is one of the most important parts of my work. — Sen. Cory Booker (@booker.senate.gov) 2025-07-02T23:16:24.422Z

Media appearances:

x From the devastating cuts to rural hospitals, to the terrible backroom deals for special interest tax breaks — the Republican budget bill represents everything that is wrong with Washington D.C. — Rep. Joe Neguse (@neguse.house.gov) 2025-07-03T04:10:48.064Z

x The Republican Reconciliation bill is a tragedy for America’s working families. It will strip health care from 12 million people. It will slash funding for food + health care at historic levels. And it will add trillions to the national debt—pushing the country closer to a dangerous debt spiral. — Ritchie Torres (@ritchietorres.bsky.social) 2025-07-02T19:06:22.657Z

x Republicans value MAKING BILLIONAIRES WEALTHIER. Joined Ali Vital @waytooearly.bsky.social to call out how Republicans are forcing Rhode Islanders to make horrific choices between health care and feeding their kids if the big, ugly bill becomes law. — Congressman Gabe Amo (@amo.house.gov) 2025-07-02T18:23:34.478Z
