USAID Is Dead. A New Age of State-Sponsored Cruelty Has Begun. [1]

USAID is dead.
After months of targeted cuts and bureaucratic sabotage, the agency that once symbolized America’s global commitment to dignity and survival has been dissolved. Its programs now sit within the State Department. Its staff have been recalled. Its mission has been abandoned.
This was not inevitable. It was deliberate. Trump returned to power with a clear agenda to dismantle what remained of the postwar liberal order. He found allies in Congress willing to gut funding. He found loyalists in the bureaucracy willing to silence dissent. He found a public too tired to notice.
USAID was never perfect, but it mattered. It connected American power to human need. In refugee camps, in disaster zones, in clinics and classrooms, it delivered something more lasting than money or medicine. It delivered solidarity.
Now that link has been severed.
Trauma centers in Ukraine are closing. HIV patients in Malawi and Zambia are rationing doses. Food deliveries to South Sudan have stopped. There will be deaths. There will be suffering. There will be silence from the people who ended it.
The dismantling of USAID is not a reorganization. It is a worldview. It tells the world that the United States no longer sees value in easing suffering. That power is the only language we are willing to speak. That help, when it comes, will come only at a price.
This is not the isolationism of past generations. This is not a retreat into caution or constraint. This is a new ideology, one that dresses cruelty in the language of realism and sells it as strength. It is not conservative. It is not nationalist. It is predatory.
What died with USAID was not just an institution. It was a promise. A small, fragile, and flawed promise that the most powerful country in the world might also try to be the most humane.
We saw what the world looked like before that promise. We may be about to see it again.
We are Fighting Back . You Can Too.
The Alliance for American Leadership is tracking the impact of aid cuts, rallying support to restore funding, meeting with members of Congress, and reminding Americans of the real meaning of American leadership: decency, duty, and hope.
In just our first two months, we've recruited over 400 volunteers from 41 states, including 23 senior campaign strategists and the former Briefing Manager for the Kamala Harris Presidential Campaign.
And we’re only getting started.
We are on track to mobilize 5,000 volunteers by the 2026 midterm elections to fight for American leadership. We will resist fascism, restore USAID, and rebuild America’s role as a force for good in the world. This is our moment to lead with integrity and purpose, showing the world. What true American values are all about.
That’s why we’re inviting you to our first national fundraiser. This is more than a night of speeches — it’s a rallying cry for action. We’ll hear directly from organizers, policy experts, and survivors of aid shutdowns, and map out our strategy for turning outrage into results. Whether you’ve been with us from the start or are just joining the movement, this is your chance to plug in and power up.
But behind every meeting, every voice, and every victory is the operational engine that makes it all possible — and right now, we need your help to keep it running.
We must raise $20,000 to sustain the operational infrastructure that powers this movement. That means funding our digital outreach and empowering the young, diverse, and working-class leaders who are too often left out of the fight. Your support keeps the lights on, the teams moving, and the pressure on Congress at full force.
