IAN: Thursday 7/3/2025 Midnight Serenade Water Lily [1]

Lil Zen and I went to Van Ness Water Gardens today and I bought two plants for my pond. I got a dwarf papyrus plant and a Midnight Serenade water lily. There are at least 3 buds on it and they will bloom this gorgeous purple. The leaves are also beautiful. See the next picture below the usual arglebargle.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. Purple and green leaves, quite large.
I was smitten by the colors of these leaves. They get the size of salad plates and have huge splotches of purple and green on the top and loads of tiny purple freckles on the bottom. This plant will quickly spread out and fill the big pond. I will have to make a break to keep some open space of the water hawthorn, which takes up a bit of space of its own. Right now, it is in the regrouping stage.
This is a dwarf papyrus but mine is not this big yet.
I got them both in the water and have hope for their future blooming. Have a good day.
