How MAGA People Think: Exhibit A [1]

I’ve always said that you have to understand your electoral rivals if you want to outhustle them and persuade the all-important middle of independents and moderate Dems and Republicans. These are the people who put Joe Biden in office 2020 along with a Dem majorities in both houses of Congress. They are also the people who rescued Crazy Orange from the jailhouse and redirected him to the White House.
Here is an excerpt from post on X which illustrates how MAGA people are thinking now. I imagine a lot of folks will be revolted when they see this. But if you’re finding yourself asking “What the &*#@% is that stuff doing here on Kos, even as a quote?” — just try to think of it like stomach-turning historical photos. Sometimes a close examination is necessary for understanding how things got this way. And it is indeed important. We must understand them because without that, it will be must harder for us to understand the elusive middle which went Orange last fall. After we see this, we have to ask ourselves a few questions:
— What parts appeal to large body of the Middle?
— What parts are more or less neutral?
— What parts truly turn them off (the Middle, not Kos-minded folks).
Then we have to work to understand how we can best (1) highlight the things that turn them off, (2) educate them on the things that they find neutral and persuade them that this should not be so in a decent and just world, and (3) more education to try to turn the things that appeal to them into at least a neutral, or if possible turn them against.
Needless to say this list is simply an exemplar from today. A proper list would include a full range of the most important Orange policies and programs.
I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts and criticisms / recommendations on the approach. I am brainstorming a bit here so there may be some things / drawbacks I have not thought of, but of course that is exactly what this community is for. Many like minds working together are far stronger than any single one, so have at it. Before we can fight back, we have to Think Back!!!
