The Hall of World War II in the Tillamook Air Museum in Tillamook, Oregon is a huge exhibit showing World War II in models. A portion of this exhibit shows the Battle at the Bridge of Remagen.

During the Allied invasion of Germany during World War II, there was an 18-day battle—March 7-25, 1945—at Remagen, Rhine Province, to capture a bridge across the Rhine River. The retreating German Army had wired the bridge with demolition charges, but only a portion of the charges had blown up leaving the bridge still functional. Once the Americans had captured the bridge, the Germans attempted to destroy it with howitzers, mortars, floating mines, airplanes, and V-2 rockets. Over a period of ten days, 367 German aircraft attacked the bridges but failed to destroy it.

The use of V-2 rockets marked the first time they had been used against a tactical objective. A total of eleven V-2s were launched and the closest impact was 300 meters from the bridge.

At 3:00 pm on March 17, the bridge collapsed, killing 33 American engineers and wounding 63.

The models of the battle are shown below.
