The latest innovation for Russian logistics — the wheelbarrow.

The Russian army is like the Hotel California — you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave.

x 1/ Russian soldiers have now been serving for a longer time than any involuntarily mobilised Russian or Soviet troops since 1888, during the Tsarist period nearly 140 years ago. Not surprisingly, this has led many to complain of 'slavery'. ⬇️

2/ The author of the 'Shelter No. 8' Telegram channel is a Russian soldier who joined the army in 2021. As he points out, the 3 years and 9 months he has served so far is approaching a new record for involuntary service since the end of the Tsarist period. 3/ "In Tsarist Russia, with the introduction of conscription, they served in the infantry: - In 1881-1888 - 5 years. - In 1888-1906 - 4 years - I am here with my 3 years and 9 months. - From 1906 to 1918, they served in the infantry for 3 years. 4/ "In the USSR, if I remember correctly, at first, with the return of conscription, they served in the infantry for 3 years, then 2 years." 5/ Prior to the war in Ukraine, Russian contract soldiers served for a maximum of three years before being given the choice between signing a new contract or leaving the army. They are currently serving under indefinite contracts under a stop-loss policy. 6/ Many soldiers are thus now serving long beyond the expiry date of their contracts. Those mobilised from September 2022 onwards are in a similar situation, with the longest serving mobilised soldiers now reaching 2 years and 9 months of active service. 7/ It's likely that there are contract soldiers now approaching 6 years of continuous service – twice the length of a normal contract. This is longer than in any previous Russian conflict, including the two World Wars.

Good for Azerbaijan.

Based on its description and appearance, the round resembles a multi-projectile cartridge — upon firing, the bullet fragments in the air into several parts. This significantly increases the density of fire and, consequently, boosts the chances of hitting the target by two to three times. It is expected that each infantry soldier will carry a dedicated magazine loaded with these anti-drone rounds, which can be quickly attached to a rifle and used to open fire upon detecting enemy UAVs.
