Terrible Budget Reconciliation Bill in Senate RIGHT NOW. Call and write Republican Senators NOW! [1]

If you live in a red state, call your Republican Senators right now! Demand that they oppose the budget bill and wait until the analysts have had time to study it before voting on it later tonight or tomorrow. Tell them you are watching how they will vote.
This bill, as modified by the Senate, is even worse than the House bill. This bill:
Gives ICE a gigantic budget (larger than many countries' military budgets). This provision would enable Trump to fund a gestapo force that he can use to terrorize us all for decades.
Increases the national debt by $3.3 trillion over 10 years plus interest (which will probably take the total up to $4 trillion). This is almost $1 trillion more than the House version. This increase in the debt will likely increase inflation and/or interest rates and could send the country into a recession. [Note that Republicans are claiming that the bill simply extends the 2017 tax cuts (which expire in October), so the debt created by those cuts should not be counted. But the debt those tax cuts generate will be real.]
Transfers more wealth to the rich than ever before in US history.
Forces nearly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid -- four times as much as ever before. This will likely push 11.8 million Americans (5% of all Americans) off Medicaid and would damage or destroy many smaller hospitals especially in rural areas.
Kicks almost 12 million people off SNAP benefits.
Cuts funding for green energy and imposes a tax on it, which will eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs -- many of them good, new manufacturing jobs.
This is a terrible bill being rushed through over a weekend before anyone really knows its full consequences. The provisions we do know about about are brutal and will hurt millions of Americans. The expansion of ICE is particularly scary and bodes poorly for democracy in our future.
This bill will likely cripple America. As it is, the Trump Administration is destroying our research and development centers and turning this country into the laughingstock of the world. Instead of making America great, this bill will further mangle and destroy the country.
Please call and write your Republican senators right now. Tell your friends and neighbors to call too. Post this on social media. We really need to stop this bill or at least delay it until people know what it will actually do to our country.
Republican Senator Thom Tillis was so frustrated with being bullied and threatened by Trump to vote for this monstrosity, that he has decided not to run in 2026.
… He [Republican Senator Tillis] also suggested some in his own party care more about political points than the impact of policies they vote on, saying, "Too many elected officials are motivated by pure raw politics who really don't give a damn about the people they promised to represent on the campaign trail." ...
Ask your senator to stand up to Trump and join Tillis in refusing to vote for this terrible bill.
