Ukraine has lost another F-16 and its pilot.

x Ukrainian Air Force pilot, 1st class Lt. Col. Maksym Ustymenko, was killed last night while defending against Russia’s massive air attack. He was 32. Maksym destroyed 7 aerial targets before his F-16 was hit. He managed to steer the jet away from residential areas but could not eject.

Ukraine targets bridges in Luhansk.

x 💥 Soldiers of 412th Separate Battalion “NEMESIS” are targeting bridges and crossings over Zherebets River in Luhansk region. ✊ Their actions are creating a natural barrier to block the advance of Russian forces from Luhansk toward the Kharkiv and Pokrovsk directions.

More on the high body count among Russians in the Sumy area.

x 1/ Russia is reportedly sustaining exceptionally high casualties in its offensive against the Sumy region of Ukraine. A warblogger says that the battlefield is strewn with Russian bodies. Those who survive are reportedly treated as deserters and told they should have died. ⬇️

2/ 'Belarusian Silovik' writes: "Today I watched several videos filmed by our group, which was semi-encircled in the area of Oleksiivka-Andiivka in the Sumy direction. What meat there is. All the forest plantations are [covered] in bodies." 3/ A soldier with the 40th Separate Guards Marine Brigade (military unit 10103) says that commanders are sending men into suicidal assaults, resulting in casualties as high as 92%, treat those who survive as deserters, and tell them they should have died. 4/ The man, who uses the call sign 'Rayleigh', says that only eight out of a hundred men in a company from his brigade survived an assault on the village of Kindrativka. The handful of survivors were treated as deserters by the commander, 'Hornet'. 5/ "Because they survived, the commander told them: you are 500s [deserters] and you were hiding, fuck, we don't give a damn whether you raised the flag or not, you should all die, none of you should have survived!" 6/ Rayleigh is understandably angry: “I think such commanders should not live at all, yes, but this is my personal opinion, fuck. Such bastards should be sent, fuck, to the front or immediately zeroed out [executed]… 7/ "Now they are being told that they are 500s, why the fuck did they even survive, that they should have all died like dogs. This is what the commander “Hornet” says." 8/ According to the soldier, the men have gone "without food, without water for a week, and the command said, you won't get any shit, they didn't even send water by airdrops. Now they are sending them back to the assault and yelling: you're all going to die anyway." 9/ Some soldiers are clearly unwilling to do so. Mass surrenders have been reported, including this instance of 12 Russians surrendering to a Ukrainian drone.

A Russian soldier bemoans a Ukrainian strike that wiped out their UAV command base.

x On the Pokrovsk front, Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed a Russian UAV command post. All documentation, cash, FPV and reconnaissance drones were destroyed. Ammunition and technical equipment used by drone operators were also wiped out.

Russia unleashed another mass drone/missile assault on Ukraine with 477 drones and 60 missiles. This time the targets were cities in western Ukraine, including Lviv, where an oil refinery may have been hit.

x ❤️🐶 Every life matters: in Poltava region, rescuers pulled two dogs from under the rubble of a building destroyed by Russian strikes. ❗️Last night, the enemy again targeted the Poltava region, hitting industrial facilities and critical infrastructure.

Russian commanders keep sending out columns of vehicles that keep getting blasted into scrap. The strategy, apparently, is to keep doing that because eventually one will get through.

x Ukrainian units (TIVAZ artillery group) took out a Russian column using cluster munitions. Spotted by drones, first hits sent troops running for cover in a nearby treeline—only for that to become the next target. Over a dozen Russians were eliminated.

Belgorod bavovna

Russia’s new anti-drone device.

x ❗️🤔 It seems that the occupiers have invented a new way to shoot down Ukrainian Mavics. A rope is attached to the Russian drone, on which there are magnets and nuts, which allow the drone to be neutralized by the reset method.

This may seem like a waste of time and resources from a military standpoint but it likely does a lot to boost morale.

Patriot components get more armor.

x 🇺🇦 In Ukraine, a specialized armor system is now being produced for the Patriot air defense system. The control station, radar comparator, and generator are now protected by 3 tons of armored plates. The upgrade is being handled by Ukraine’s largest metallurgical company.

Another 1,220 Russians. Plus 6 tanks.

I’m actually surprised Ukraine had not done this earlier.

This now makes every country on Russia’s Western border that has withdrawn from the treaty on land mines, with the exception of Norway, which shares a small border with Russia along the Arctic coast.

What a lucky woman!

x Ramzan Kadyrov's son Adam (age 17) reportedly got married on Friday, according to his sister. There are reports that the wedding was hastily organized as Kadyrov's health is getting worse, and it is a tradition for a successor to be married.

Russia has put more than a billion euros into expanding this aircraft plant that still only produces 4 planes a year.

x Despite sanctions, Russia has invested over €1 billion into expanding its strategic aviation plant in Kazan, reports Yle. The facility, which builds Tu-160 bombers and upgrades Tu-22M3s, added 19,000 m² of new hangars — yet delivered just 2 aircraft in 2023 due to workforce and component shortages.

Russia can’t produce what it needs and can’t sell what it does manage to produce.

x ‼️ Russia: “"The situation is desperate." Gazprom does not know what to do with 60 billion cubic meters of unsold gas” Looks like Russia’s energy blackmail failed 😊 www.moscowtimes.ru/2025/06/28/p...

Russia creates chaos wherever it goes.

x Since Russia's deployment of military equipment from Syria into Libya, there has been a 173% rise in migrant arrivals to Greece. Russia is enabling people-smuggling along Libya’s coast. Moscow wants Europe to face a migration crisis. Europe must wake up. euobserver.com/migration/ar...

This boat is said to have been a catamaran used for tourists. It was empty when it exploded.

Russia doesn’t have enough locomotives as it is.

x “The accident occurred on the non-public track of the Baikal-Amur Mining Corporation, which adjoins the Olekma station of the Far Eastern Railway” “13 empty carriages were attached to one of the trains and one of the drivers lost control and allowed the wheels to derail.”

Spain rejected the idea of increasing its defense spending as much as other European nations have been doing, yet it plans to build a carrier.

Orban’s Fidesz Party leads in polling in Hungary but lacks a majority.

Meanwhile, in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, a massive protest against the regime of President Aleksandar Vucic was met by police violence.

There is no truth to the rumor that in Ukraine McDonald’s signature burgers are now called Big Bavovnas.

x ⚡️McDonald's to open 10 new restaurants in Ukraine this year, NYT reports. The 10 new locations will bring the total number close to 120 — more than were operating in Ukraine before the war.

Having run out of scooters, motorcycles and donkeys, Russia turns to looted tricycles for meat assaults.

If you are a passenger in a Russian car, you might as well put your feet up on the dashboard because if you wreck, you’re toast anyway.

x Russia is a 3rd world country where driver airbags in new cars are optional. The 'accessory' costs a typical Russian's monthly salary. Passenger airbags aren't available for purchase even if you wanted them.

Bank loans for cars are 20% to 45% APR with a massive down payment. 😂

x After congratulating Russia on June 12th, the US Department of State has not issued a press statement on Ukraine's Constitution Day which celebrates independence and democracy on June 28th. 🤔
