New Day Cafe: What Day Is it? [1]

Good morning, Newdists!
I genuinely almost forgot it was Sunday. We have a few friends staying over this weekend, and as always, it’s disorienting. It’s been a lot of fun, don’t get me wrong. So much so that I didn’t even spend that much time in my trucking den, lol. But all of my routines have been disrupted and my social battery is very, very close to dead. I feel bad saying it because they’ve been lovely guests, but I’m looking forward to bidding them all a fond farewell this afternoon. (Wow, I sound like a dick! LOL)
But, just as I’ve been doing a lot better in these kinds of situations, so has Zoe, which is very interesting to see. Zoe has always been a cat that keeps to herself and doesn’t like people (except for the BF and me). When people came over before, she would hiss and run for the nearest hiding spot. I don’t know what accounts for the change in behavior, but she has gotten downright social lately. She only hissed once this entire weekend, and she spent most of her time in the living room with us. Last night, she even jumped on the sofa with the humans while we watched TV and allowed people to touch her. I noticed that she started getting more social after Autumn died. Autumn was always the social one—it’s almost as if Zoe realized there was a void after Autumn passed and decided to try to fill it. It’s heartening to see. I’m happy other people finally get to see her nice side! (I don’t think most people believed me before when I told them she was actually a sweet cat!)
