An Important Effort To Help Targeted Communities: This Is What Resistance Looks Like [1]

Hello everyone!
I follow a content creator called Parkrose Permaculture on You Tube. She briefly highlighted this new service, but I haven’t seen it posted here. This is important! This is what it looks like to resist!

Parkrose Permaculture and the SCU Agents of Change
In essence, this effort involves SCU students. We are all aware that ICE is lurking at courthouses waiting to snatch people when they arrive for their immigration appointments. These students have set up a hotline. People who are afraid to show up in person at courthouses can call, and the students will assist them to file a motion to set up a Zoom call, so that they can make their court appearance from the safety of their own homes, and do not have to risk abduction by ICE.

I looked everywhere and couldn’t find anywhere to donate to support this effort, so I called the number and left a voicemail. Later that day, I got the following answer:
Hello (my name,)
This is attorney Olu Orange. I am responding to your voicemail at (time) earlier today. Thank you for your offer of support. We don’t have anything formal set up because we put everything together on very short notice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My office is handling the costs of the toll free number. The bill has reached thousands of dollars already. I’m also about to host a get together for all of the AWESOME students who are volunteering in the SoCal area. Your support in any measure would be wonderful. My office Paypal ID is (redacted for now.)
I have sent the lawyer a message asking if it is okay to share their paypal ID here so that more people can donate, or if there will be a more formal arrangement (such as gofundme) set up. As soon as I hear back I will update this article with donation information.
This is an effort that needs to go nationwide, and the sooner, the better. This is a brilliant idea to thwart ICE while helping minimize risk to our immigrant communities.
Please help me get the word out! Let’s try to make as many people as safe as we can. :)
