Although the EPA may have done a poor job of protecting citizens from poisons in the environment, it should be revitalized, not obliterated. The EPA has neglected the health of citizens lately and bowed to big business. Polluters must pay to restore what they have trashed. The EPA has allowed a number of unsafe chemicals; they need to grow a backbone. If the EPA cannot do its job; if it is in the pocket of corporate lobbyists, fire the bastards taking bribes and root out corruption.
Chlorpyriphos is one of the most dangerous pesticides. It causes brain damage in children and is threatening at least 37 species of bees and butterflies with extinction. A decade ago the EPA found there is no safe use for it and banned its use, but a federal judge asked for additional evidence 3 years ago. The EPA chose to not respond, so this deadly poison is still widely used. Get the EPA back in business protecting citizens and the planet, not the coffers of corporate violators. That task should not be relegated to an NGO like Friends of the Earth.
Ban Musk Ambrete . This additive to cheap perfumes causes early onset puberty, breast cancer, diabetes and heart disease. It is already banned in Canada and the EU. We used to be a leader, now we are struggling to keep up.
