Just the Stats, Man: Canvass Wrap up from 17 Swing States [1]

Hope Springs from Field understands that volunteer to voter personal interactions are critical. Knocking on doors has repeatedly been found to be the most successful tactic to get voters to cast a ballot and that is the goal of what we do.
1% of the voters we talked to supported the House reconciliation bill to cut the federal government. 25% disapproved. 8% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 47% disapproved. There is no senate race next year in Arizona, but we are asking about job approval for Juan Ciscomani in this district. 2% approved and 49 % disapproved. 48% approved of the job Gov. Hobbs is doing while 8% disapproved.
Jobs was the Number 1 issue for the Arizonans we talked to. Tariffs was second and Fears over cuts in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid was third.
In Arizona, 218 volunteers came out to knock on doors in the Tucson area on Saturday. We knocked on 16,284 doors and talked to 1,302 voters. 824 of those voters answered at least some of the questions on our Issues Survey. We registered 2 new voters and re-registered 18 voters (many of these were voters who wanted to take advantage of Arizona’s Active Early Voting List).
Florida
715 volunteers came out last Saturday in Florida and knocked on 52,695 doors. They talked to 4,268 voters last Saturday. 2,731 voters responded to questions. We registered 43 new voters (overwhelming African-Americans) and re-registered 22 voters, all using the Florida Secretary of State website (to comply with Florida’s stringent laws).
The Top Issue in Florida last Saturday was The Economy. Concerns over the future of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid was the Number 2 issue. Political Violence was third.
On Saturday, 2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the Federal budget while 21% disapproved. 9% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing; 45% disapproved .
Florida has a new Senator, since Marco Rubio jumped ship. Her name is Ashley Moody. 6% of the voters we talked to approved of the job she was doing and 23% disapproved. We also ask about how voters feel about the job the governor is doing. On Saturday, 14% said they approved and 45% said they’d disapprove. You may have noticed his numbers changing once we got out of FL-06.
138 voters filled out Constituent Service Requests. 3 voters filled out an Incident Report, citing potential problems they had witnessed in a prior election.
Georgia
613 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday in Georgia. We knocked on 44,565 doors and talked to 3,654 voters. 2,375 of those voters answered at least some of our questions.
We registered 48 new voters (primarily African-American) and re-registered 12 voters.
The Economy was the Top Issue in Georgia on Saturday. Jobs was second and Tariffs was third.
1% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 23% disapproved. 8% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 45% disapproved. 49% of voters we talked to said they approved of the job Jon Ossoff was doing in the Senate; 4% said they disapproved. 38% approved of the job Gov. Kemp is doing while 39% disapproved.
157 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms and 3 voters filled out Incident Reports.
Iowa
488 volunteers came out last Saturday in Iowa and knocked on 34,062 doors. They talked to 2,759 voters and 1,738 voters responded to questions. We registered 1 new voter and re-registered 7 voters, to comply with federal voter laws.
The Top Issue in Iowa last Saturday was The Economy. Tariffs and their impact on Agricultural Exports was the Number 2 issue. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and Cuts to Rural Hospitals was third.
On Saturday, 2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts and 37% disapproved. 9% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing; 43% disapproved .
31% of the voters we talked to approved of the job Sen Ernst was doing and 42% disapproved. We are also asking how voters view their Incumbent (GOP) Members of Congress. 7% approved and 41% disapproved. We also ask about how voters feel about the job Gov. Reynolds is doing. On Saturday, 8% said they approved and 45% said they’d disapprove.
83 voters filled out Constituent Service Requests.
Kentucky
172 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday in our third canvass in KY-06. We knocked on 12,043 doors and talked to 963 voters. 616 of those voters answered at least some of our questions from our Issues Survey.
We re-registered 2 voters. 23 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
High Prices was the Top Issue on Saturday. Tariffs was second. Budget Cuts was third. Apparently, there are federal Jobs in this area.
3% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 26% disapproved. 12% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 38% disapproved. 3% of voters approved of the job Andy Barr is doing; 44% disapproved. 48% approved of the job Gov. Beshear is doing while 11% disapproved.
Maine
89 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday in our kickoff canvass in Maine. We knocked on 6,381 doors and talked to 523 voters. 340 of those voters answered at least some of our questions.
We re-registered 3 voters. 8 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
Tariffs was the Top Issue in Georgia on Saturday. Prices was second.
1% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 38% disapproved. 7% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 44% disapproved. 10% of voters we talked to said they approved of the job Susan Collins was doing in the Senate; 42% said they disapproved. 38% approved of the job Gov. Mills is doing while 21% disapproved.
Michigan
505 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday. We knocked on 37,723 doors and talked to 3,055 voters. 1,925 of those voters answered at least some of our questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 4 new voters and re-registered 17 voters. 128 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
Tariffs was the Top Issue in Michigan on Saturday. The Economy was second. Voters mention Auto Jobs in relation to both of these. Concern over Increasing Political Violence was third.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 32% disapproved. 9% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 45% disapproved. 53% approved of the job Gov. Whitmer is doing while 4% disapproved.
Minnesota
382 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday. We knocked on 27,771 doors and talked to 2,223 voters. 1,421 of those voters answered at least some of our questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 5 new voters and re-registered 12 voters. 115 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
Jobs was the Top Issue in Minnesota on Saturday. Tariffs was second. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and Cuts to Rural Hospitals was third.
3% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 36% disapproved. 9% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 42% disapproved. 51% approved of the job Gov. Walz is doing while 5% disapproved.
New Hampshire
271 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday in New Hampshire. We knocked on 19,970 doors and talked to 1,637 voters. 1,036 of those voters answered at least some of our questions.
We registered 1 new voter and re-registered 8 voters. 105 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
Inflation was the Top Issue in New Hampshire on Saturday. Tariffs was second. Threats to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid was third.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 24% disapproved. 9% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 44% disapproved. 18% approved of the job Gov. Ayotte is doing while 41% disapproved.
New Jersey
588 volunteers came out to knock on doors last Saturday in New Jersey. We knocked on 43,515 doors and talked to 3,524 voters. 2,290 of those voters answered at least some of our questions.
We registered 5 new voters and re-registered 13 voters. 69 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms.
Jobs was the Top Issue in New Jersey on Saturday. Housing Availability, Affordability and Housing Insurance Costs was second. Threats of Political Violence was third.
3% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 27% disapproved. 11% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 47% disapproved. We are also asking how voters view their Incumbent (GOP) Members of Congress. 4% approved and 31% disapproved. 36% approved of the job Gov. Murphy is doing while 11% disapproved.
Nevada
We wrote about last Saturday’s kick-off canvass in Nevada in Wednesday’s diary. 327 volunteers knocked on 23,674 doors. Volunteers talked to 1,941 voters and had in-depth conversations with 1,242 of them, respectively, guided by our Issues Questionnaire.
North Carolina
574 volunteers came out to knock on doors in North Carolina. We knocked on 42,30 doors and talked to 3,468 voters. 2,254 of those voters answered questions from our Issues Survey.
We registered 56 new voters (primarily African-American due to our Divine Nine volunteers) and re-registered 13 voters.
The Economy was the Number 1 Issue in North Carolina. Tariffs and threats to Agricultural Exports was second. Threats to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and Rural Hospitals was third. Sen. Tillis is in a rough spot with this reconciliation package.
1% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 31% disapproved. 9% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 45% disapproved. 4% approved of the job Thom Tillis was doing in the Senate; 44% disapproved. 49% approved of the job Gov. Stein is doing while 4% disapproved.
162 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms. 6 voters filled out Incident Reports.
Ohio
We wrote about last Saturday’s kick-off canvass in Ohio in Friday’s diary. 738 volunteers knocked on 55,128 doors. Volunteers talked to 4,520 voters and had in-depth conversations with 2,893 of them, respectively, guided by our Issues Questionnaire.
Pennsylvania
530 volunteers came out to knock on doors in Pennsylvania last Saturday. We knocked on 38,531 doors and talked to 3,082 voters. 1,872 of those voters answered questions from our Issues Survey.
Prices was the Number 1 Issue in Pennsylvania. Tariffs was second. Housing Availability, Affordability and Housing Insurance Costs was third.
3% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 21% disapproved. 8% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing. 42% disapproved. There is no senate race next year in Pennsylvania, but we ask about job approval for the Members of Congress in these districts. 5% approved of the job the incumbent Member of Congress was doing; 48% disapproved. 51% approved of the job Gov. Shapiro is doing while only 4% disapproved.

Texas
730 volunteers came out to knock on doors on Saturday in Texas in weather cooler than usual. We knocked on 54,531 doors and talked to 4,471 voters. 2,839 of those voters answered at least some of our questions. We registered 36 voters and re-registered 31 voters.
The Economy was the Top Issue in Texas last weekend. Tariffs was second and Border Concerns was third. Undocumented Migration, difficulties in crossing the Border (both ways), that kind of thing. Pretty broad spectrum.
2% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 28% disapproved. 11% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing while 44% disapproved. 3% approved of the job John Cornyn was doing in the Senate; 47% disapproved. 4% approved of the job Gov. Abbott is doing while 48% disapproved.
207 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms and 7 voters filled out Incident Reports, citing potential problems they had witnessed in a prior election.
Virginia
513 volunteers came out to knock on doors on Saturday in Virginia in the 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts. We knocked on 37,295 doors and talked to 3,020 voters. 1,933 of those voters answered at least some of our questions. We registered 4 voter and re-registered 18 voters.
Jobs was the Top Issue in Virginia last weekend (VA-02 is the home of Norfolk. which has a lot of federal employees). Tariffs was second. Looming Budget Cuts was third.
1% of the voters we talked to supported DOGE and House Republican efforts to cut the federal government. 39% disapproved. 7% of the voters we talked to said they approved of the job that Trump was doing; 49% disapproved. 55% approved of the job John Warner was doing in the Senate; 2% disapproved. 5% approved of the job Gov. Youngkin is doing while 48% disapproved.
131 voters filled out Constituent Service Request forms and 2 voters filled out Incident Reports, citing potential problems they had witnessed in a prior election.
