Trump Profits While Taxpayers Bleed: USAID Cuts Cost Billions as His Family Rakes in Crypto Cash [1]

It’s hard to fathom just how much money $6 billion is. It’s more than the entire GDP of Montenegro. It could fully fund the United Nations' global emergency response plan twice over. It could feed every child facing acute hunger on Earth for months.
And it’s how much the United States has wasted by shutting down USAID.
That figure isn’t from activists or think tanks. It comes from the U.S. government itself. Internal estimates reported by Bloomberg Government confirm that the ongoing aid freeze and dismantling of programs tied to USAID’s mission has already cost taxpayers over $6 billion. Not saved—cost.
The aid shutdown was billed as a cost-cutting measure. But the reality is stark: tearing down decades of global partnerships comes at a price. Canceling aid shipments means paying breach-of-contract penalties. Pausing procurement chains means wasting already-bought goods. Letting medicine expire in warehouses or rot on grounded shipping pallets doesn’t just waste money—it wastes lives.
And the scale of damage is broader than most realize. Across the globe, lifesaving programs were uprooted almost overnight. Clinics in conflict zones shuttered mid-operation. Supply chains delivering vaccines and antiretrovirals collapsed. School meal programs vanished in regions where they were the only reliable source of nutrition. In many cases, the U.S. had already paid for the food, the medicine, the staff. But none of it made it to the people who needed it.
This is not just a humanitarian failure. It’s a strategic one. For decades, USAID has been one of America’s most powerful tools for influence, stability, and soft power. It’s how the U.S. helped rebuild Bosnia. How it fought HIV in Africa. How it supported free elections, trained journalists, educated girls, and built food security.
Undoing all of that doesn’t just cost dollars. It erodes trust. It sends a message to our allies and partners: America cannot be relied on.
And while the money vanishes, so does the moral clarity. For years, American foreign aid was far from perfect, but it was at least grounded in the idea that our power came with responsibility. That if we had the capacity to save lives, we should. That being a global leader wasn’t just about military might, but about what we chose to build.
What replaces that legacy now? Billionaires on Twitter mocking disease-stricken countries. Right-wing influencers praising budget cuts they don’t understand. A political movement that sees compassion as a weakness, and sabotage as strategy.
This is not prudence. It’s not leadership. It’s not patriotism.
It’s waste. It’s cowardice. And it’s disgraceful.
$6 billion is the price of retreat. Of withdrawal. Of turning our back on the world, and on everything this country once claimed to stand for.
And the meter is still running.
We are Fighting Back . You Can Too.
The Alliance for American Leadership is tracking the impact of aid cuts, rallying support to restore funding, meeting with members of Congress, and reminding Americans of the real meaning of American leadership: decency, duty, and hope.
In just our first two months, we've recruited over 400 volunteers from 41 states, including 23 senior campaign strategists and the former Briefing Manager for the Kamala Harris Presidential Campaign.
And we’re only getting started.
We are on track to mobilize 5,000 volunteers by the 2026 midterm elections to fight for American leadership. We will resist fascism, restore USAID, and rebuild America’s role as a force for good in the world. This is our moment to lead with integrity and purpose, showing the world. What true American values are all about.
But behind every meeting, every voice, and every victory is the operational engine that makes it all possible — and right now, we need your help to keep it running.
We must raise $20,000 to sustain the operational infrastructure that powers this movement. That means funding our digital outreach and empowering the young, diverse, and working-class leaders who are too often left out of the fight. Your support keeps the lights on, the teams moving, and the pressure on Congress at full force.
