Ohio Volunteers Step Up: Sharing Hope from the Field [1]

Hope Springs from Field PAC began knocking on doors again on March 2nd. We target Democrats and unaffiliated voters with a systematic approach that reminds them not only that Democrats care, but Democrats are determined to deliver the best government possible to all Americans.
Obviously, we rely on grassroots support, so if you support field/grassroots organizing, voter registration (and follow-up) and our efforts to protect our voters, we would certainly appreciate your support:
https://secure.actblue.com/donate/hopemobilization Hope Springs from Field understands that volunteer to voter personal interactions are critical. Knocking on doors has repeatedly been found to be the most successful tactic to get voters to cast a ballot and that is the goal of what we do. We’ve been asking voters if they approve of the sudden and deep cuts in federal programs and agencies that Elon Musk’s DOGE and the House Reconciliation Bill have made. 2% of the voters we talked to said they viewed these cuts in a favorable light on Saturday. 29% thought just the opposite. You can detect from the graphic that disapproval had been falling as DOGE fell out of the news, but it has ticked up again. 9% of the voters we talked to had a favorable impression of the job Trump was doing (48% disapproved). On Saturday, 5% of the voters who responded approved of the job Sen. Husted was doing while a mere 27% expressed Disapproval. In other words, only 32% of the voters we talked to said they knew who he was and had an opinion. 40% approved of what Gov. DeWine was doing and 38% disapproved. DeWine and Brian Kemp of Georgia are the two Republicans that seem to get good ratings among the Democrats and (mostly) unaffiliated voters we talk to Hope Springs volunteers registered 14 new voters and re-registered 72 voters who updated their addresses to comply with HAVA requirements. We differentiate between the new voters and re-registering voters because brand new voters are often ignored by campaigns and we hope to compensate for that somewhat by having volunteers send them post cards before the election and they will also receive robocalls thanking them for registering.
In Ohio, we had 190 voters filled out Consti-tuent Service Request forms. We send completed CSRs to Democratic elected officials responsible for the requested functions, but if the appropriate office is held by a Republican, we still send it along. For Democrats, though, we encourage them to reach out immediately to the voter who filled out the Constituent Service Request forms and let them know they are working on the issue. This credit-taking is enormously valuable to the Democratic office-holder.
