An alternative to Trump’s economic plan As Senate Republicans gear up to pass President Donald Trump’s massive bill centering on tax cuts and spending reductions this weekend, one Democrat will offer an alternative. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, the moderate Michigan Democrat who won competitive races twice with Trump on the ballot, is pitching an economic “war plan” for her party today, focused on delivering results and abandoning purity tests. Support small businesses. Build more housing. Invest in vocational training. Develop more energy. Revamp visa programs to meet demand for workers in the country. Focus on the middle class, whose hollowing out many fear could lead to the demise of democracy. www.washingtonpost.com/...

Rogers up big in internal Fabrizio poll News: President Donald Trump’s pollster, Tony Fabrizio, is getting involved in Michigan’s Senate race, polling for a pro-crypto group that’s backing former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers. Rogers trounced his possible competition, Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-Mich.), in Fabrizio’s poll, 48% to20%,with another 32% undecided. The survey was commissioned by First Principles Digital, a new super PAC that backs Republicans who support crypto. Trump’s approval rating in the poll is positive at 92/7. This is significant for a few reasons. First, Rogers is backed by Senate GOP leaders and they are very eager to see Trump endorse him. In the absence of that, Huizenga is inching toward a run. punchbowl.news/...
