Brigid Bergin and Joe Hong for The Gothamist:
The trend would seem to favor state Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, who has made mobilizing young and first-time voters a key campaign strategy.
Meanwhile:
Cuomo sought to downplay the importance of youth turnout in early voting on Sunday.
What kind of politicians do we want? Mamdani certainly sounds like a “better” Democrat (this website used to talk about “more and better” Democrats all the time). Who else is attracting significant numbers of “infrequent, young, Hispanic and Asian voters” ? (soft paywall, alternate) Mamdani’s election has been received across the political spectrum as a big deal. Where are you seeing good analysis and more importantly, good next steps conversations?
