First, here is an inspiring and amazing acceptance speech by Zohran Mamdani. Chills.
I’ve seen people arguing that this means we should run candidates exactly like him all over the country.
I agree. And that doesn’t mean candidates who are Democratic Socialists. Or candidates who are Muslim. Or candidates who give Obama vibes (although, that is pretty sweet).
That means running candidates who campaign on AFFORDABILITY.
Everywhere.
Republicans have always been the party of the rich, but now they are saying the quiet parts out loud and wearing it on their sleeves.
At a time of ballooning income inequality and a slipping of accessibility to the middle class, they are doubling down on stealing from the poor and middle class to give to the 1%.
Our path to winning this country back has never been simpler.
Affordability.
It wins in NYC with a Democratic Socialist. It wins in the heartland with a centrist. It wins everywhere.
It is who we are. Democrats build the middle class. We care about the poor. We lift people up. We want the billionaire class to pay its fair share.
Affordability.
Let’s get out there and take this country back, one election at a time.
