Some of the News tRump Doesn't Want You to See [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

tRump is manufacturing crises — mostly deportations and now the bombing of Iran — in order to distract from his failures and shortcomings in other areas. Here are some of the distractions (note they are real, but they are distractions from the main events):

Bombing Iran (yes, serious)

Attacks on judges

Attacks on Democratic leaders

That damned military parade These are all meant to divide us and to make tRump look “strong” and to appease those in the maga who are still up in arms about immigrants. In the meantime, here are some of the things they want us to ignore (please add more in the comments): Problems in the economy

The economy, especially the Auto industry:

x ".. The uncertainty has led to a capital crunch, with big companies reducing investment activity, and smaller suppliers struggling to access financing, leading to job losses and factory closures .." @bloomberg.com www.bloomberg.com/news/article... — Carl Quintanilla (@carlquintanilla.bsky.social) 2025-06-24T12:47:39.931Z

Consumer sentiment

x Consumer sentiment in June declined most in the West & Southwest (Pacific & west south central) where immigration raids have intensified--these regions drive a huge share of growth so the aggregate index of sentiment also declined (trade policy is not the only relevant policy shock!) — Julia Coronado (@jc-econ.bsky.social) 2025-06-24T15:26:42.271Z

Polling

In general, not popular:

x According to our polling average, Trump is underwater on immigration, the economy, inflation and (not pictured) foreign policy. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/data — G Elliott Morris (@gelliottmorris.com) 2025-06-23T13:07:13.723Z

The war is not popular. Maga may fall in line.

x June 21-22 poll of 2,408 U.S. adults (+/-2.4%) More Americans disapprove than approve of the U.S. bombing of nuclear sites in Iran % who approve | disapprove U.S. adults 35% | 46% Democrats 16% | 70% Independents 27% | 51% Republicans 68% | 13% today.yougov.com/topics/inter... — YouGov America (@today.yougov.com) 2025-06-22T17:11:59.579Z

Corruption

tRump and his friends don’t want you to see how he’s selling pardons and letting the criminals keep their gains — of course, not a surprise for a corrupt fraudster. Criminals are keeping the money they stole from the government. You know, from us.

x NEWS: Ranking Member Raskin releases a new Committee staff analysis exposing how Trump’s corrupt pardon spree of nearly 1,600 criminals deprives victims of $1.3 BILLION in restitution and fines owed to them and American taxpayers. — House Judiciary Dems (@democrats-judiciary.house.gov) 2025-06-17T18:41:56.667Z

🐦 I do a lot of other writing. Newest offerings: Messing with the Myths — two books so far in this series (they are a lot of fun). Older offerings: the Crow Nickels (chronicles), about crows who want to save birdkind from extinction (Hunters of the Feather). Mysteries based on Jane Austen’s novels, such as The Meryton Murders. Others based on history and Greek mythology, e.g., Jocasta: The Mother-Wife of Oedipus. All titles also available through Kindle Unlimited.
