This is ass kissing at it’s worst:
Coastal Georgia’s U.S. Rep. Earl “Buddy” Carter has nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing the president’s “extraordinary and historic role in brokering an end to the armed conflict between Israel and Iran” and preventing Tehran from “obtaining the most lethal weapon on the planet.” In a letter Tuesday to the head of the Norwegian Nobel Commission in Oslo less than a day after Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, Carter said the president’s “bold action” in “forging a swift agreement that many people believed impossible efforts” illustrated the “very ideals that the peace prize seeks to recognize: the pursuit of peace, the prevention of war, and the advancement of international harmony.” Trump’s “message of mutual respect and peace will now result in a full cessation of military activity, no further escalation, and the preservation of thousands, if not millions, of lives throughout the Middle East and around the globe,” Carter said. Hours before Carter posted the letter on the social media website X, the ceasefire appeared off to a rocky start, as each side traded fire. That drew Trump’s ire.
Carter’s trying to paint himself as the GOP frontrunner in the primary to get Trump’s endorsement:
As Republican candidates position themselves to take on Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in Georgia, Rep. Buddy Carter is leading the GOP field, according to a new internal poll obtained by NOTUS. With a margin of error of just over 3%, the internal polling memo was conducted for the Carter campaign and surveyed 970 likely Republican primary election voters between June 8 and June 10. And according to the poll, Carter holds a nine-point lead at 27% over a hypothetical field that includes Rep. Mike Collins (18%), Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (10%) and John King (2%), the state’s insurance commissioner and safety fire commissioner. (Thus far, King is the only other announced candidate.) While it’s good news for Carter, there are also some positive signs for other Republicans — namely, that 43% of the respondents said they were undecided. And no GOP candidate was close to the required 50% they’ll need to avoid a runoff election.
Three Republican polling firms have showed Ossoff beating Carter but not at the 50% mark to avoid a runoff yet:
Cyngal: Ossoff leads Carter 46-42
Tyson Group: Ossoff leads Carter 47-39
WPA Intelligence: Ossoff leads Carter 45-32
Carter wants to paint himself as a strong candidate with Governor Brian Kemp (R. GA) out:
Carter billed himself as a “MAGA warrior” in his campaign announcement video released on Thursday. He declared his commitment to the Trump administration’s efforts to secure the border and end transgender athletes’ participation in school sports, bashing Ossoff’s approach to the issues. The announcement comes only days after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said he’d pass on a run for Senate in the midterms, a blow to Republicans’ efforts to take the seat. Kemp’s absence paves the way for what could be a crowded primary. “I have decided that being on the ballot next year is not the right decision for me and my family,” Kemp said in a statement on Monday. “I spoke with President Trump and Senate leadership earlier today and expressed my commitment to work alongside them to ensure we have a strong Republican nominee who can win next November.”
Also, Carter is the clown who proposed this:
Republican Congressman Buddy Carter, representing Georgia's 1st congressional district, has introduced a bill to rename Greenland to "Red, White and Blueland." The bill, titled the "Red, White, and Blueland Act of 2025," aligns with President Donald Trump's past efforts to purchase the island. “America is back and will soon be bigger than ever with the addition of Red, White, and Blueland,” Carter said in a press release. “President Trump has correctly identified the purchase of what is now Greenland as a national security priority, and we will proudly welcome its people to join the freest nation to ever exist when our Negotiator-in-Chief inks this monumental deal.”
Also, Happy Anniversary Buddy:
x "This decision by the Supreme Court was the right decision in my opinion. I think that Roe versus Wade was outdated."

And of course Carter and the GOP are going to hyper focus on transphobia in their attacks against Ossoff:
Ossoff is the only Democratic incumbent defending a seat in a state Trump won last year, making him far-and-away the top target for Senate Republicans. Still, some Republicans admit that Ossoff will be difficult to beat, particularly now that Gov. Brian Kemp decided not to seek the seat. The early Republican criticism of Ossoff points to the Democratic senator's vote against legislation in February that would make it a Title IX violation (jeopardizing federal education funding) for states to allow transgender women and girls to participate in female sports. The bill failed to get the 60 votes it needed to advance in the Senate. One Nation, the nonprofit aligned with Senate Republicans' main super PAC, has spent at least $400,000 airing an ad reminiscent of a key tagline from one of Trump’s anti-Harris ads from last year: “Man-to-man defense isn’t woke enough for Ossoff, he’s playing for they/them.” Carter’s opening salvo of ads included a spot touting the congressman’s MAGA credentials while a person purporting to be a transgender woman holds sports trophies and stands in front of a transgender pride flag talking about how Ossoff has been an ally to the community. Asked about the GOP criticism of that vote, Ossoff campaign communications director Ellie Dougherty told NBC News in a statement that “American parents don’t need federal bureaucrats confirming our children’s genitalia,” a reference to how a state might enforce the mandate in the Republican bill.
Meanwhile, Ossoff is not only ready for re-election, he’s laser focused on his job:
