NYC Mayoral Primary Results: Mandami is our candidate and Cuomo Concedes [1]

Update: Cuomo has conceded, the people’s will prevails.
Unless a candidate gets 50%, this is going to ranked choice counting. But right now, Mamdani is kicking Cuomo’s ass. As in, not very close (89% counted results at CBS news live updates) for the sexual predator and shamed ex-governor. If he results (and it is likely) goe to ranked choice rounds, we won’t know who wins until July 1st at the earliest. This is amazing on so many levels, I have voted in NYC elections for a quarter century, and this is easily the most excited, and hopeful I am for our city.
I was told here at Daily Kos many times that Mamdani had no chance, that Cuomo was the only way NYC could resist Trump inc and that anyone who thought otherwise was being foolish and idealistic. I knew those people were wrong, but they persisted in attempts at forecasting the future. Which is a never a wise game to play.
Whatever happens in the ranked choice rounds, Cuomo has taken a body blow and it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving candidate.
Adams failed us, and New York deserves better. Better than him, and better than Cuomo. It should also be noted that Cuomo has declared he will run in the general election no matter the reults of the primary, putting on display his ego and self-entitlement. We are the cusp of something special here.
I bet Cuomo knows how to pronounce Mamdani now.
