Why We Were Forced To Bomb Iran [1]

Since I overdid the subtlety, I wish to point out this is snark and while the incidents are factual, my spin on them is sarcastic.

Here’s a brief history of the many Iranian provocations that forced President Trump to bomb Iran’s 1,000s of nukes before they could be used against Israel and the United States.

1953: Initial Provocation

The US and UK install dictatorial monarchist Shah of Iran. The coup, code-named Operation Ajax by the US and Operation Boot by the UK, reinstated the Shah's autocratic rule after democratically-elected Prime Minister Mosaddegh's government had nationalized Iran's oil industry for the benefit of the Iranian people instead of the richly deserving British oil companies

1953 to 1979: Continuing Iranian Provocations

Shah Reza Pahlavi modernizes Iran through his White Revolution, a series of economic and social reforms, but his rule was also marked by authoritarianism, corruption, and repression, including suppression of dissent through the SAVAK, his secret police

1979: Ongo ing Iranian Provocations

The Shah leaves in January due to the Iranian Revolution, a period of widespread unrest and protests against his rule, and his failing health

Ayatollah Khomeini seizes this opportunity to return and start a theocratic dictatorship

Khomeini went to great lengths to assure the US that his return would not threaten their interests, particularly regarding oil. This contributed to the US decision not to interfere

American hostages are taken. Militants demand the extradition of the shah in return for the hostages’ release. Extradition is refused by the US

1980 to 1988: Accelerating Iranian Provocations

With implicit US urging and explicit material support, Iraq invades Iran. At least 250,00 Iranians die from the war and its aftermath. In 1984, Iraq begins using chemical weapons against Iranian military and Iranian civilian targets

US support for Iraq against Iran included billions of dollars in economic aid, dual-use technology sales, and intelligence sharing. The US also provided military equipment, including helicopters and other weapons

In addition, the US provided thiodiglycol, a mustard gas precursor, and American companies sold or transferred biological samples, including anthrax, West Nile virus, and botulism to Iraq

1982: Iranian Domino Effect

The Reagan Administration outlines a "nightmare scenario" in which the Iranians invade Iraq, they defeat Iraq, and then head straight for Israel, which is distracted and debilitated by its ongoing adventures in Lebanon

1985: Why are Iranians punching themselves?

Israel begins a 40 year campaign of assassinations, car bombs, and midnight air attacks on Iran

2025: The Ultimate Provocation

The US and Israel accelerate bombing of Iran to destroy its nuclear weapons capability, just as the US was forced to destroy Saddam Hussein’s huge nuclear weapons cache in Iraq

Conclusion

This history of 72 years of obvious provocations by the Iranian people cannot be allowed to continue unpunished. In his recent post to “Truth” Social, President-for-Life Donald J. Trump informs us that regime change is the ultimate goal. Unstated but implied is that the new regime will soon have Iranians civilians begging for a return to the good old days.

Since I overdid the subtlety, I wish to point out this is snark and while the incidents are factual, my spin on them is sarcastic.
