11pmET: Israel's military warned its public that Iran launched missiles towards it, even as a proposed ceasefire hung in the air. Alerts began going off on mobile phones in Israel about the barrage.
WASHINGTON, June 23 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Iran through talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday while his team, including Vice President JD Vance, held talks with Tehran, a senior White House official said.
The official, providing details of the ceasefire on condition of anonymity, said Israel agreed to it so long as Iran does not launch fresh attacks. Iran signaled that no further attacks would take place, the official said.
As with all Trump nonsense like his ‘regime change’ post, this ceasefire has yet to be fully confirmed.
Trump claimed to NBC News that the “ceasefire will last forever”.
"Within three hours of Mr. Trump’s [ceasefire] announcement, there were fresh attacks from Israel against Iran.”
Official, detailed announcements from Israel have yet to be made as of this time; NY Times: Iran State TV announced acceptance of a ceasefire at 1025pmET (per MSNBC).
And with Trump’s ‘aspirational’ branding, he still wants that Nobel Prize with a ‘Twelve Day War” media frame. Because it’s about getting credit for the bunker-busting coup de gras.
Like an auto dealership with an oversized flag, Trump the car salesman seems to ‘negotiate’ by telling one side a lie that the other side has already agreed to a result, while telling the other side a similar lie.

This war looks like it should end up being called the “Bullshitzkrieg,” because at this point, it pretty much seems to have been performative on all sides, especially on Trump’s. We should be grateful for that, but … WTAF. GROK: While Donald Trump did make a public announcement claiming a ceasefire between Israel and Iran on June 23, 2025, the evidence leans toward this not being true in practice. Iran has explicitly rejected ceasefire calls, and Israel continues military operations, with no official confirmation from either party. This discrepancy suggests Trump's message may be aspirational or premature, given the ongoing conflict and statements from involved nations. The controversy lies in the lack of agreement, with Trump's claim potentially being a unilateral declaration rather than a negotiated ceasefire. Given the sensitivity of the topic, it is crucial to monitor further developments, as the situation could evolve rapidly. As of now, based on available reports, the ceasefire does not appear to be in effect. The entire public premise for Israeli (and American) strikes on Iran is false, and a product of Netanyahu seeing a weakened Iran and deciding to strike (and interpreting murky intel in a very particular way to effectuate that).
Hyperbole has gotten 'obliterated'. Iranians moved uranium and equipment from the Fordo facility.
Trump’s all about the public pronouncements, but a more fulsome damage assessment is still forthcoming.
After overnight strikes on Iran, President Trump on Sunday declared the operation a “success,” and said that Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities were “completely and totally obliterated.” But his early public pronouncements contrast with more cautious assessments by the U.S. and Israeli militaries. The Israeli military, in an initial analysis, believes the heavily fortified nuclear site at Fordo has sustained serious damage from the American strike on Sunday, but has not been completely destroyed, according to two Israeli officials with knowledge of the matter. The officials also said it appeared Iran had moved equipment, including uranium, from the site. A senior U.S. official similarly acknowledged that the American strike on the Fordo site did not destroy the heavily fortified facility but said the strike had severely damaged it, taking it “off the table.” The person noted that even 12 bunker-busting bombs could not destroy the site. www.nytimes.com/… x New via NYT: A senior US official similarly acknowledged the American strike on the Fordo site did not destroy the heavily fortified facility but said the strike had severely damaged it. Manufacturing a crisis in order to create cease-fires.
