If recall correctly, in the beginning Netanyahu and all the pro Gaza war crowd in Israel really, really made a point about bringing the hostages home. Yeah, now that I think of it, many times in the first few months of the Gaza war, Netanyahu issued repeated statements and frequently remarked in press conferences, cabinet meetings, and interviews that returning the hostages was a “top priority,” a “sacred and supreme task,” and a central war aim — along with, of course, destroying Hamas to ensure Gaza could no longer pose a threat to Israel.

Hamas abducted 251 people during their October 7th attack that murdered over 1000 innocent people. Since then, hostages have been released through negotiated exchanges, rescued by Israeli forces, or their remains recovered.

But 50 remain.

Pop quiz: The Oct 7th attack happened in what year? Was it 2023? ‘24? I had to look it up.

Right, it was 2023. 625 days ago.

Funny how after years of war, with all the incident death and destruction, people tend to forget the Lusitania. Or was it the Maine?

Anyways, some of the hostage families feel that their government’s actions haven’t always matched its rhetoric. Some feel that military operations have taken precedence over negotiations, and that the hostages’ plight has been sidelined for the expanding war.

The good news is the majority of Israeli Jews support the war on, I mean, in Gaza. See here, e.g.. The even better news is the vast majority of Israelis support their attacks on Iran. See here and here. Those people know how to rally around the flag and fight!

I’m just thinking about that kind of thing right now for no particular reason. I kinda remember something about yellow cake and a little problem we had over there with all those Arabs who attacked us on 9/11. I dunnow. Or maybe it's because I was watching some children at the park today, and some of the naughty boys kept on moving the goal posts so they could cheat and win.

Anyways, I’m pretty sure Iran is two weeks away from having operational nukes, and the last thing I want is some Arabs with nukes.
