All those perseverating diaries about why young white and Latino men support Trump, and why Democrats should care...
Well, that Trump alpha manosphere has gotten its advertised wish - a warrior king who will bring them to battle, in a holy crusade to Make America Great, Again. To mass the mighty power of America in bloody conflict, where they can prove their heroic warrior genes in life and death combat to crush their enemies on the streets of LA and in Tehran.
Bravo young Trump voting white and Latino men. You sure showed Democrats.
You thought your biggest worries were loneliness, female rejection, low wages (but higher than young women for the same work), dismal job prospects, and a bad economy?
You voted for Trump. But it's turns out it's not just the rest of us you thought would pay this bill to make you whole - it's you, you will be drafted to fight Trump's war. And like the young men in four generations of my family, you will pay the price for his War. Not the Fortunate Sons of the rich who pay doctors for phony bone spur draft dodges. But regular young boys with heads shorn waving at school children on American playgrounds as they pass by in long convoys traveling to board military flights to foreign nations. Yeah, that was the quagmire of Vietnam so many of us old Democrats tried desperately to keep from becoming your future. But we lost. You thought you won by voting for MAGA and the GOP. You were so sure. You are our sons and our grandsons.
Wake up. Your life depends on it.
