The bigger flag makes the White House more of a decorated shed, no different than the British burning it in the 19th Century, or Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown’s estimation of Las Vegas.

Attention needs to be paid to what’s happening inside.

Sergio Gor appears to actually be Sergey Goryachev from Saratov, Russia.

“...you could say that decoration - a la Venturi and Scott Brown's decorated shed - is applied to otherwise humble or banal structures and there's an element of camouflage in that.”

www.archdaily.com/... Las Vegas was regarded as a "non-city" and as an outgrowth of a "strip", along which were placed parking lots and singular frontages for gambling casinos, hotels, churches and bars. The research group studied various aspects of the city, including the commercial vernacular, lighting, patterns, styles, and symbolism in the architecture. Venturi and Scott Brown created a taxonomy for the forms, signs, and symbols they encountered.[3] The two were inspired by the emphasis on sign and symbol they found on the Las Vegas strip. The result was a critique of Modern architecture, demonstrated most famously in the comparison between the "duck" and "decorated shed." The "duck" represents a large part of modernist architecture, which was expressive in form and volume. In contrast, the "decorated shed" relies on imagery and sign. Virtually all architecture before the Modern Movement used decoration to convey meaning, often profound but sometimes simply perfunctory, such as the signage on medieval shop fronts. Only Modernist architecture eschewed such ornament, relying only on corporeal or structural elements to convey meaning. As such, argued the authors, Modern buildings became mute and vacuous, especially when built for corporate or government clients.[2] en.wikipedia.org/... www.archdaily.com/...

White House after it was burned by British 1814. Because the organized American Army was well to the north near Canada, only a hastily organized militia was available to defend the capital. For the British, this allowed a quick victory after which they were free to enter the city.

The “King’s Own” was one of the units who marched into Washington. In retaliation for the torching of the Canadian capitol of York (now called Toronto), and to disgrace President Madison, they set fire to the president’s residence on August 24, 1814, burning down the White House. daysgoneby.me/...

A Urals District night club with a mural of Russia's President Vladimir Putin against the backdrop of a burning U.S. White House has claimed the painting had no political implications, a news report said. The Oblacko hookah lounge in the Tyumen region has drawn a flurry of online criticism for the drawing, but a "positive" reception from customers, a spokesperson for the club, Filipp Fadeyev, was quoted by Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper as saying Monday. "We wanted for a long time to decorate our establishment with [the image of] some popular character, and the choice fell on Vladimir Putin," Fadeyev was quoted as saying. "Those who have a sense of humor will understand that this has nothing to do with politics." Local artist Sergei Spiridonov said his painting copied an image that has been circulating online, and was intended to showcase Russians' patriotism, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported. www.themoscowtimes.com/...
