This lovely garden is located inside Washington Park in Portland OR. According to the signage, the garden was founded in 1915 as a refuge for Rose varieties being grown in Europe, and became a “test garden”, where new varieties from around the world are evaluated for their color, hardiness, and growing conditions. Today there are over 600 varieties in the garden.
Some photos from a visit.
Inside the Garden
A variety known as “Apricot Drift”
Another variety known as “Yellow Brick Road”
Mt Hood in the background
A wedding ceremony with friends, family—and a couple hundred random strangers from all over the world
