Trump policy is spinning like the roulette wheel in his failed casino [1]

Trump’s various policies are described as inconsistent, incoherent, ambiguous, or hard to rely on, but a better way to describe positions that change multiple times a day is chaotic. They are so ambiguous and change so rapidly that it is hard to pinpoint just what they are at any point in time. His policies are like popcorn in a skillet bouncing off of each other and ricocheting wildly.
Running a business within this government environment of uncertainty can be next to impossible contributing to rising bankruptcy rates, falling consumer sales, and cooling job growth. So is running your own life and making any kind of long term plans or decisions.
Tariffs — Applied to 290 separate countries at ranges from 10% to 145% and often changing multiple times on a single day, these tariffs have caused havoc in stock markets and retail markets as many entrepreneurs give up in frustration, afraid to replenish inventory subject to an unknown import duty. Consumers stock up and then hold off on buying anything, churning markets.
Federal agency staffing — Consider the folks managing the US nuclear weapons that were fired one day and hired back within a week. The Department of Agriculture (USDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) all fired workers by the thousand only to hire them back, and then threaten to get rid of them again. He has wrecked the federal government.
War negotiations — Trump campaigned on his prowess at bending the will of warring nations to bring peace before he even took office. Not only has he failed miserably at this, but he has made the path to peace even more difficult for those involved as he oscillates on promised assistance to Ukraine on a daily and weekly basis. Our European allies have taken this perpetual flip flopping as an end state in itself and are fortunately taking up the slack left by Commander Bonespurs.
Trump alternates between issuing ultimatums to Hezbollah and offering to turn Gaza into a world class resort, sans the present inhabitants. Gaza peace looks like urban renewal to Trump. In his mind the residents of Gaza are so much rubbish to be removed so he can get on with developing the area. On the other hand maybe he will help Israel bomb the last few standing buildings to rubble. He is trying to bring peace by helping to starve the remaining Palestinians into submission.
Now, in the last three days, Trump has proclaimed he was close to a nuclear deal with Iran, then that he was unaware of Israeli plans to attack Iran, then that he knew about the attack, then that he supported the attack, and now he is claiming the United State controls the skies over Iran. And he is demanding that Iran “surrender unconditionally”. His positions are beyond head spinning.
If you were anyone but a die hard MAGA base member, you might get the idea that he does not know what the hell he is doing. If you hired anyone as a manager in your company and they performed half as erratically as that, you would have security escort them from the building and get them a referral for psychiatric care. You would not put up with them for a week, much less five months.
There was a time when “flip flopping” was an indication that a politician was insincere, lacking conviction, and therefore unfit for public office. Trump makes a simple and quaint policy flip flop of yore look like the opening step to a ten minute break dancing performance as he gyrates from position to position, often in a single sentence.
If you are still wondering what the end state will be in all this confusion, be assured we are there… Its Chaos. The only thing that remains uncertain is the breadth and degree of damage to your finances, your civil liberties, your freedom, your health, your safety, your general well being, along with everyone else’s on the planet.
