“First Encounters of the MAGA KIND” [1]

Today I attended an informal political meeting held at our public library.
Several county council representatives set up a time to discuss the current issues and concerns of county constituents.
(Our county ,which is in a solid blue state, voted 60 per cent in favor of Kamala last November.)
Two county officials were present.
The first one who tried to “chair” the meeting was a democratic leaning individual.
Second to appear was a well known MAGA small town republican.
He has lost in several elections at the state and federal level over the past 6 years.
As he represents a republican stronghold city in our county, he finally won an election. A place on the county council last year.
He has had the backing of every right wing business crook and other greased politicians.Despite outspending his opponents by a wide margin, he has always lost save for now. (in the “little leagues”.)
Today I saw him in person and in action for the first time.My first encounter with a MAGA politician in true life!!
The discussion began with some in the audience criticizing the county for allowing clear cutting of land for new development .There were voiced concerns that the water shed would be reduced, that pollution is unchecked ,and concerns about corruption in the local governments and on…
A study was cited, showing definite evidence that new development in our area does not have the adequate water resources and other ancillary services to sustain any new development.Anti business sentiment by audience members dominated the discussion.
Mr “MAGA” councilman, who was 20 minutes late in arriving to the meeting was the epitome of the ultra right wing“patriot”. White , massively over weight, overbearing, uncouth and loud..A true to life, MAGA “beast”.
In he waddled with his work boots and dirty red flannel shirt.
He immediately took control over the meeting and began with the following:
“ I’m not a politician , but a true working man! All of the studies you quote are BULLSHIT! Yer all BULLSHIT!(Sic).”
This is how these animals behave in the real down to earth political arena. .They have become so emboldened that they show no respect for decency even at such an informal setting.
Upon this expletive being uttered by this “creature”,I immediately stood up in a very conspicuous manner and marched out of the meeting!
Most of the those attending were obviously NOT Maga people.
Yet, no one else dared to leave …..and they remained there to endure the garbage being spewed out by the disdainful MAGA councilman .I am very discouraged…
This complacency by obvious decent and democratic leaning people is VERY alarming IMO.
Will we not wake up?
