Why would the rest of the world, old allies, old enemies, citizens, businesses, visitors, new allies, new enemies, anyone; why ever trust the USA? Trade deals are worth a mood swing, alliances depend on ego boosting, treaties are subject to treachery, contracts and agreements aren’t worth a dime, the president can be bought, the constitution sold out… why should anyone trust the United States at this point?
Students are seeing their scholarships revoked, their student visas revoked, foreign students are being arrested, loan agreements rescinded, classes they need removed.
Tourists are being detained, not sent back or denied entry, but actually jailed for trying to enter a country that gave them a visa to enter the country.
TPS status holders, having a contract with the US, having paid thousands of dollars to “do it the legal way” only to see their contracts annulled once here and now they are being hunted like criminals.
Immigrants, that have gone through the system established for them to go through, now also being hunted, worse they are being arrested in the very institutions they have their planned meetings with the government, by the same fucking government.
Businesses, and organizations, having obtained grants and funding to do certain innovations or research, having their grants pulled after they already spent or borrowed money to start said work.
Countries, in the middle of negotiations with the US, having the US conspire to kill their commanders and scientists.
Allies, who had treaties, agreements, accords, deals with the US, saw all of them become null and void, then on again, then off again on the whims of a petty buffoon who fancies himself some sort of deal maker.
And so much more, the sheer magnitude of broken deals and agreements by this administration hasn’t only rendered the US untrustable across the globe with friends(if we have any left) and foes alike, but also untrustable by its own citizens, which one of us would enter any sort of contract with the current government?
It doesn’t matter where you stand politically on any issue, if you can’t trust your government to hold up any bargain or contract made with anyone, country, or even you… you must admit that your government is worthless and has failed you. For even those sitting right next to the occupant of the white house today, cannot guarantee that any deal made today on any level, with anyone, will still be valid tomorrow. Not a single ONE can make that guarantee!
